Unchained Heart

Chapter 7

I had to control myself from my pain before I went out to find Andre. Rene took her right hand and wiped my face as Jill came up with tissues. Both her and Rene were in hysterics. Dez and Jerome soon came up on stage and rallied around me while Morris went out to find Andre and Prince.

  "Why didn't you tell us sooner?" Rene asked as she took a tissue and dried her face.

  "I wanted to but I just didn't wanna hurt anybody." I said through my tears.

  "Oh honey! We would have understood."

  "I know but look at what just happened! Look what I just did to poor Andre! That's what I wanted to avoid!"

  "Andre will be alright Regan just give him some time to process everything." Jill replied as she hugged me.

  "Regan?" I heard a voice call from behind me.

I turned to find Dez in tears and that was about to kill me.

  "Dezzy. I-"

Before I could finish my statement he pulled me close to him and hugged me tightly as he bawled his heart out. It soon caused me to cry right along with him.

  "It's not true! Please tell us it's not true!" He cried. I could feel his heart beating quickly the more he cried.

  "Dezzy I'm really sorry. I wish it wasn't." I said as I let him go.

  "Why? You've been nothing but a friend to all of us! Why you?"

  "I don't know Dez. I wish it wasn't me at all but it is."

Jerome placed his hand on my shoulder and I turned to find him fighting back his tears.

  "It's ok Tricky. You're still a man if you cry." I giggled trying to lighten the mood.

He tried to smiled but he lowered his head the moment a tear fell from his left eye. I wiped it away and before my hand could leave his face he grabbed it.

  "We don't want you to go mouse." He whispered.

  "Even when I do I still haven't left you. I'm still gonna be around."

As I tried to get him to look at me he shed a few more tears. I gave him a long hug and told him that there was nothing to worry about. As he let me go the door came open and Cat ran up to me in tears.

  "I just heard." She said crashing into me for a hug.

  "Please don't cry Cat. It's ok!" I begged holding her tightly.

  "You're so nice. You can't be sick." She said.

  "Well I don't feel sick. Just.....sad."

"I saw Andre. He's pretty torn up. I thought I'd find Prince like that but I didn't. How did he take it?"

"Better than Andre that's for sure. I need to go find him. Where was he when you saw him last?"

"Out in the lobby by the doors."

I didn't waste a second. I went out of the room and to the lobby with the girls following right behind me. I was never so afraid to see Andre so upset because of me. It made me want to hide from him but I knew there was no turning back from this nightmare. I had to be there to comfort him. It was what he needed me to do for him and I couldn't abandon him now. When I found him he was sitting in a chair in the lobby bawling uncontrollably. His head was down and his arms looked as if they were purposefully tying himself down. Prince stood beside him as I caught his attention looking at me. With a sad look on his face he left Andre's side and met me in the center of the lobby with Rene, Jill and Cat standing just behind me.
