Update on the amount of money we raised the first week: $56.73
Amount of money we have now: Way more than $56.73
I haven't told her we have all the money yet. It didn't take as long as I thought it would! I'm planning on surprising her today! I've already talked with the guys and told them, if they'd like me to come back, I would love to. They said, "Of course! It just isn't the same without you!" I was glad to come back to the band. I'd do anything for Serenity, though, and she needed help.
I started my usual route to Serenity's house. As I was walking over to her house, I was thinking about surprised she was going to be when I told her. or how not surprised she was going to be. I was contemplating on whether or not to go back, but I kept walking forward. I reached her house, and as the usual routine, I walked up to her porch and rang the doorbell. She opened the door in her face lit up excitement when she saw me. I wrapped her in a big hug as if I hadn't seen her in a long time.
Come on in, she signed.
I walked in and followed her into the living room. we sat on the couch just enjoying each others company and then I finally spoke up.
I've got something to tell you, I grinned.
What? she smiled back playfully. She bit her lip which drove me insane.
I pulled out all the money I had collected for her surgery. She gasped and put her hand over her mouth. She started shaking her head "no" and crying.
She kept signing over and over, Thank you! She hugged me and cried into my shoulder.
You're the best. I wouldn't ask for anyone else in the world. I couldn't. No one is dedicated enough to raise money for a surgery that I don't really need and willing to quit their job for me, she signed, still crying.
I need the best for the absolute greatest, I signed. I smiled and kissed her forehead. And, yes, you do need the surgery. I know how much you miss listening to our rockin' music. I smiled goofily. She returned with a genuine smile. I held her close and we sat their being the great couple we are.

I'm scared, she looked up at me from the hospital bed in which she was laying. She was holding my hand and looking at me with pleading eyes. She had all kinds of IV's and tubes running from her arm and wrist to some fancy machines behind the bed.
There's no need to be scared, I assured her.
But, what if it doesn't work? she worried.
Trust me, it will work. I only hire the best for my girl. She deserves nothing less, I smiled. I kissed her forehead.
Two hospital guys walked in the room and wheeled her out to go to surgery. She looked back at me. I blew her a kiss. She returned the kiss before she was put into an unperturbed sleep for surgery.
~In the waiting room~
I was reading the latest edition of some news magazine when two figures appeared in front of me. I glanced up and saw the two figures were my brothers.
"Hey Connor," Riley greeted, sitting in the chair to the right.
"How's she doing?" Toby asked, taking the seat to my left.
"I don't know. I was told when she's done, someone will be sent to notify me that she's out," I said.
"About when'd they say she should be done?" Riley asked.
I checked the wall clock across the room. "Sometime soon."
Just then a doctor walked in the room and called out, "Friends and family of Serenity Thomson."
My brothers and I stood up and walked over to the man in the doorway.
"Right this way," he said kindly. "So, are you guys friends or family?"
"We're really 'friends' but with the tight bond we've created with her, she's family," Toby told him.
"So, which one of you is the 'Connor' she keeps asking for?" he asked, glancing back at us as we turned a corner.
"That would be me," I said.
"Well, she's been constantly asking for you and wondering if you're alright and whatnot," he told me. "You're very lucky guy to have a girl like her. When I found mine, she was the same way."
"Thank you, sir. I am constantly thankful I have her in my life. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have her," I said, thinking about all the memories we have together.
Sooner than I thought, we arrived at her room. I prepared myself before I walked into the room. I will admit, I did have my slightest bit of doubts that it wouldn't work but this guy was good. I've seen nothing but positive feedback about his work.
The doctor opened the door, leading us into a room with her family. I took a deep breath then walked in.
I met her eyes and I heard the most wonderful sound I could ever hear: her voice.
"Connor..." she said weakly. I rushed over to her bedside.
Serenity, you talked, I signed.
I can also hear again, thanks to some silly guy who insisted on paying for my surgery one way or another, she signed back, laughing a bit.
"I love you," I blurted.
She didn't respond. She instantly grabbed my face and pulled me into the most passionate kiss. I missed her whilst she was in surgery. I wanted to be there to make sure nothing would happen to her but of course, they wouldn't let me no matter how much I begged them. I was afraid something would go wrong and she'd never hear my voice again. Worse: she wouldn't have the chance to ever speak to me if she wanted to or ever felt comfortable enough.
"I'm so glad your hearing's back," I smiled. I lightly kissed her again.
Me too, she smiled. My smile faltered a little bit. Why didn't she say it? If she could say my name, why can't she just say three simple words? What did I do wrong? She noticed my smile fade away.
What's wrong? she signed.
"Oh," I instantly forced a smile. "Nothing."
She was getting ready to sign something but a nurse came in.
"Serenity, sweetheart," the nurse said catching Serenity's attention. "It's time for you to rest. You can have them come back and visit tomorrow."
I kissed her forehead and said my goodbyes to her and her family. I walked out of the room and looked back at Serenity. She was still looking at me and something in her eyes told me she knew I was lying when I said nothing was wrong. I was saved by the bell...err, well, nurse in this case.
A/N: I AM SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRRYYYYYY I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN A REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY LONG TIME *grins sheepishly* I've been really busy and when I'm not, I'm worn out from being too busy and I'd rather make you guys wait for a great chapter than just post a sloppy forced one. Some people I know have a really great talent for posting great chapters even when they don't feel like it but when I do it, it's just one huge mess. NO, no, no, no, no...... I'm not going down that road. Anyways, SERENITY TALKED! YAY! SHE SAID CONNOR'S NAME! It sucks I know. -_- I'm starting to think this sequel thing was a bad idea... it's worse than Mute.... Gee, and I was thinking about doing a threequel or whatever they're called :/ any suggestions to how I can make this not suck? I'd love to hear them! Thanks yous for dealing with my awful updating schedule. Oh, and when I post my Christmas special chapter, that's when I will ask you guys to tell me whether or not I should continue doing Deaf. Cause that whole "Connor leaving the band for Serenity" thing was just an awful idea from the start. So yeah! Thank you for reads, votes, and comments! Continue commenting and voting and maybe I'll just continue this junky story :) Byeskies! :)
Love and Hugs, <3
