"Hey, Sophie right?" A woman with red hair in a huge airplane asked.
I nodded, still fighting back crying.
"I'm Natasha, you can call me Nat, I work with the people who are trying to stop Loki. I saw what just happened, and I've been there. If you want, you can come on board and I'll help you through this."
I sighed and glanced around. "I don't really have anywhere else to go. Loki was the one who brought me to Germany."
She smiled and held out her hand. I grabbed it and walked on board.
We walked over to the pilot and co-pilot's seats. She sat in the pilot's seat and I sat in the co-pilot's.
"So, how long have you known Loki?" She asked.
"Technically a little over two months but I only really started to get to know him a little over a month ago."
She nodded. "There was this guy. I don't really talk about him much, but I fell for him. Hard. Needless to say, it didn't turn out too well. I don't even know where he is right now."
"How long did it take you to get over him?"
She started flying the plane. "I never did. It seems like I can't go a week without hearing that he was spotted somewhere, but that's just my luck. Now as far as how long it took me to admit that I couldn't be with him and I had to move on, about six months."
"Oh god." I groaned, slamming my head against the controls.
She smirked when she looked over at me.
"Hey, it's not so bad." She rubbed my back in an attempt to calm me down. "I didn't have any help, but you can come to me whenever you need help."
"I think the worst part is I knew that this would happen, and I tried to stop it, but I just gave up."
She smiled sympathetically at me. "I know the feeling."
"God, why was I so stupid?!" I exclaimed.
"It's not stupidity if you tried to prevent it. You at least made an attempt to fight against your own heart because you knew how it would end. Just because you lost the fight doesn't mean you're stupid."
"Thank you."
"You're welcome. I have a feeling we'll be fast friends."
She landed the plane and opened the big door in the back. Everyone started leaving and I glanced around, and an overwhelming rush of anxiety came on.
She chuckled when she saw my expression. "Don't worry, I'll introduce you to everyone."
I let out a sigh of relief which only made her laugh more.
"I know how it feels being the new girl. You don't need to worry."
I nodded and we left the plane.
"Sophie, this is Maria Hill. She works for SHIELD and is part of the agency that's going to help Loki. Maria, this is Sophie, she's the reason Loki surrendered."
"Wait, what?"
"You didn't see Loki raise his hands in surrender after you yelled at him?"
I shook my head.
"Well, we're about to do an interrogation so we can confirm that's the reason why, but right after you yelled at him about him giving up torturing and killing people he raised his hands in surrender and my bet's on the fact that he wouldn't have surrendered as quickly, had you not been there. Now, you get to meet everyone else."
She walked me over to what seemed like the main area of the building. It was filled with computers and different screens projecting Loki or his scepter or different details about either of the two.
"Steve, this is Sophie. Sophie, this is-"
"Captain America, it's an honor. Nice work back there with Loki." I shook hands with him.
"Yeah, I'm sorry about that. If I had known-"
I shook my head. "No, need to apologize. You did your job. I'm just the girl that got caught in between." I shrugged.
"Regardless, you were innocent in the midst of all of this, you didn't deserve to get hurt. Are you okay?"
I smiled. "I'm working on okay. Right now, I'm somewhere between devastated and mad as hell."
He laughed.
"Okay, this is Tony-" Nat began.
"Stark, yes I know you. Iron Man, owner of that huge building in New York, bit of an ass."
"Wow, Tony, it's like she has your life story." Nat laughed.
"Ha, ha, very funny," he rolled his eyes. "You do realize this means another kid that's going to make fun of me every five minutes, right?"
"I know, that's why I'm laughing," Nat told him. She took a deep breath before guiding me to the next person.
"This is-"
"DR. BANNER!" I shouted. I ran over to him and jumped into a hug.
He laughed and hugged me back. "Hey, Soph, it's been a while. How's your dad doing?"
"Still awful. He won't stop moping over old pictures of my mom and telling me I need to be mourning with him."
"Huh. I thought he would've improved by now. I suppose it's taking him longer because your mourning period was shorter than his and he feels cheated by that."
I nodded. "I guess. It's just exhausting having someone tell you how to mourn."
"Wait, how do you know Bruce?" Nat asked.
"Dr. Banner looked after my mom while she had cancer. He was her doctor." I told her
"I still feel terrible that I wasn't able to save your mother. I'm truly sorry."
"It's not your fault, Dr. Banner. In the end, the cancer was more powerful than her."
"On a lighter note, let's go see Thor," Nat said, pulling me along with her while I laughed.
"You're Loki's brother," was all I said when I saw Thor.
"Yes, and it is with my greatest sympathies that I apologize for my brother's actions. I am so sorry that he took advantage of you."
"He didn't take advantage of me," I said and Thor looked up at me, clearly confused. "I wasn't some silly foolish girl that fell for the big bad wolf. I knew who he was and I knew what I was falling for. He did lie to me, yes, but he never took advantage of me."
Thor nodded in understanding.
"Come on, I'll show you to your room," Nat guided me out of the room.
"I have a room?!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah," she said slowly. "Did you not have a room before?"
"No, I did. I just-"
"What?"
"I just didn't think I'd be welcomed this quickly."
