Steve typed in the passcode and the door opened so that I could see Loki pacing around his cage.

"Good luck." Steve quick hug before walking away.

"Thanks," I whispered, staring at Loki.

"I knew you would come eventually," Loki said, turning towards me.

"I'd hate to think I'm that predictable."

"I heard you yelling at the agent."

"Ah, well, I don't like it when people lie to me."

He rolled his eyes.

"But that's beside the point. Did you surrender because of me?"

"Is that why you came? To question me on my motives? See if you can find a bit of humanity in me?"

"I know there's humanity in you, that's not what I was asking. I was asking if you still care for me enough that you would turn yourself in to these guys because of me."

He didn't respond.

"And there's my answer," I smirked.

"Why do you have to care so much?" He asked.

"I'm not sure I understand the question."

"Normal people would've given up by now. They would've seen I was a hopeless case the second I betrayed them and given up, but you, you have heart."

"I'm staying because I know you're not hopeless. You have a reason for doing all of this. A hopeless case wouldn't have a reason."

He scoffed. "You won't give up will you?"

I smiled and shook my head. "You're not going to get rid of me that easily."

He thought for a moment. "Do you trust me?"

"Yes," I replied automatically.

"What makes you so sure you can trust me?"

"You haven't killed me yet."

He smirked that stupid smirk he knew I loved. He glanced up at the camera that was watching us beside the door. I followed his gaze and nodded.

I pulled a chair up beside the camera and stood in the chair so that I could reach the camera.

I began to yank the wires out of the camera that supported audio. Then, I jumped down and darted back to Loki.

"Twenty seconds," I told him.

"I have a helicopter coming for me with my soldiers."

I rolled my eyes at the word 'soldiers'. Some things never change.

"Oh, stop it," he remarked when he saw me roll my eyes. "I want to know if you'll come with me."

My mind raced. What would I have to lose if I went with him?

I slowly nodded and he grinned.

"It will be here in half an hour. In the meantime, stay away from Dr. Banner."

"Loki, you wouldn't."

"You're the one who fell in love with me." He winked and I couldn't help it, I laughed.

I left the room just as three agents ran up with guns.

"What happened in there?!" One of the shouted.

I raised my hands in surrender. "Jesus, I just talked to him!"

"The audio went out, we thought-"

"You thought you needed to storm in with guns?"

"Ma'am all due respect, it was the wiring that was cut. What were you and Loki planning in there?"

I rolled my eyes and Steve walked over. "Guys, it's all right. We have old wiring in there, and those cameras are half my age." He wrapped his arm around me as the agents lowered their guns.

"Sorry, Cap, but with a serious threat and his girlfriend here, we have to occupy the possibility that they could start plotting together."

"Well, tell your supervisor that you don't need to worry about this one." He guided me away from the agents. "What were you planning?" He whispered in my ear and I burst out laughing.

"Why are all of you suddenly treating me like I'm some criminal mastermind?"

"The wiring was cut in that camera. Losing the audio wasn't just a technical problem, that was deliberate, and there were only two people in that room. One of them was in a cage."

"So what? Am I the Bonnie to his Clyde now?"

"In their eyes, yes."

"They don't even have evidence."

"Soph, you went off camera around the time they lost audio."

"Okay, that's pretty good evidence. Shouldn't I be in a cage like Loki then? What's keeping them from imprisoning me?"

"Did you not hear me just defend you two seconds ago?"

I laughed. "Thank you."

"You're welcome. Now, what did you and Loki talk about?"

I sighed. "Somewhere private."

He nodded and we walked to a closed off location.

"He's got a helicopter coming for him and he wanted me to come with him."

"Did you say yes?"

"Steve, let's be real here. Who do I trust more?"

"Fair point," he nodded with a sigh. "Just promise me-"

"I won't do anything he does. I'm just going with him."

"Good. I'd hate to think you let a guy brainwash you into killing or hurting innocent people."

"Steve, please. I'm not an idiot."
