Laya’s POV:
‘Is this another dream?’ I thought to myself while walking to the store to finish my work. I pinched my arm to try to wake myself up, but nothing. This is not a dream. A big smile came to my face and my whole body got warm and I had this strange but yet good feeling in my stomach, a feeling of happiness and joy. He liked me. He really, really liked me.
The rest of the cabin cleaning went pretty fast and I had this big smile on my face the whole time. When I was finished all my work I headed back home. I had to eat lunch and get ready for the beach party. I packed a bag with all the things I needed. I decided to stay there after work. So I didn’t have to walk up and down another time. I could maybe go to Mateo’s cabin like he wanted me to.
‘Oh, I just wished he could come with me to the party, but that’s to risky.’ I thought while walking down to the camping again after some hours of packing.
Like normal Mateo sat outside the store waiting on me. But this time his smile was much bigger and happier. I gave him a little shy but yet big smile back. I walked up to the store and unlocked the door. He followed me inside and sat down on the couch. I went to the window and opened it. Then I did all the other things I hade to do. When I finally was finished I walked back to him. He smiled at me and tapped his hand on the seat beside him on the couch. I smiled a little shy and felt my face getting a little read. But I nodded and sat down beside him. Not so close to him, but with a little space.
“I missed you”, he finally said and smiled at me. I looked up at him and met his beautiful blue eyes. Blushing a little, but I didn’t leave his eyes.
“I wasn’t gone for so long”, I answered and giggled a little. Not breaking the eye contact. He smiled a little shy too and stroke my cheek with his thumb.
“So?” Then he leaned in and kissed me soft on the lips. I smiled in to the kiss and quickly kissed back. Pulling away a little while after, meeting his gaze again and smiled.
“You know, for a girl that newer had kissed anyone before, your pretty good at it”, he smiled back and I blushed even more.
“Oh really? Lucky me”, I answered a little more self confident then I usually used to be. Blushing more when he smirked at me and nodded.
“So, I can see you have packed for the party all ready,” he stated and smiled to me.
“Yeah, I thought I could just stay here before everyone came, so I didn’t had to walk up and down another time.” His smile widened with that fact that we could be together a little more then normal.
“So, you want to come over to my cabin after work then?”
“Maybe”, I said in a little teasing voice while standing up and walking to the window. I saw someone coming towards it and wanted to be ready. I saw that one of the people that came was a girl on my age. I turned to Mateo and then looked back towards the girl.
“Hide”, I said in a low voice, just so he could hear me. He quickly took his hoody over his head and put on some sunglasses.
I turned around to face the people coming to the store.
Happily they didn’t cared so much about the other person in the store. They just bought some food and some ice. Then they left. I turned around and walked back to the couch and sat down beside Mateo again. Still not to close. He took of the sunglasses and his hoody and smiled to me.
Then we just sat there, talking a little and just smiled to each other. Sometimes there came people that wanted to stay on the camping and I had to help them find their place and normal things like that. And the whole time, Mateo just sat there looking and waiting on me to be finished with my work. When I finally was finished with all the people, I came back to Mateo and sat down beside him. Letting out a sigh of finally being done. He chuckled a little and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. I stiffened a little about this suddenly touching, but when he started to stroke my arm and shoulder I relaxed more and laid my head on his shoulder. Letting out another sigh of happiness.
“Hard work?”, he asked and kissed the top of my head.
“A little, it depends on how many people it is and what they want.” I nuzzled into his side and he hold me closer. I felt a little tired but I couldn’t fall asleep now, not when I’m on work. But another time I could like to fall asleep like this.
"You are really good at that work, every thing you do seams so easy", he said and I looked a little up at him.
"Yeah, I have done it for some years and now I almost know everything I have to know", I said and smiled. "But like you saw the first time you was here, I sometimes forget to tell people to write in the book". I laughed a little and he did too.
Not long after that I heard my grand parents car stopping outside. I quickly stood up and Mateo followed me. I had never told my grandparents about him, he had always left before they came down. I couldn’t tell them we were together, that would be too awkward.
They came inside and my grandmother looked a little curious on me and Mateo, but she smile too.
“Who is this?”, she asked and looked at Mateo.
“This is James, he lives here and we have become friends”. I looked at him to se if it was okay to say that. He nodded to me and smiled a little. I used his middle name just in case.
“Ok, nice to met you James, I haven’t actually seen you around so much”.
“No, I’m not so much outside”, he said and laughed a little.
I hoped my grandmother didn’t asked any more questions. And happily she didn’t. So I told her I was staying with James a little while before the party so she didn’t start to wonder about anything.
