Laurance and Cali were now running through the forest, searching for help. Well, Laurance was doing all the running. Cali was just flying side by side with him. They were trying to get to the camp as fast as possible, trying to get through the list as fast as they could. The first step on the list surprised Laurance, leaving him speak less after the explanation that Cali gave him.
The first step on the list was simple, and got straight to the point.
To get Aphmau's blood with a silver knife.
It's use was explained in point two. But Laurance didn't got the time to read what it was as Cali plopped down a knife in his hands. They found Aphmau, who, to Laurance's surprise, was next to Lexy.
Aphmau was still in shock. Because she knew those memories weren't false. She never understood how brainwashing worked. She never understood why, when people from stories got back their memories, why they wouldn't jump at the people that they loved before, and kiss them and hug them and why, when they got them back, they were a crying mess and didn't understand their life anymore. But now she got it. Those are just memories. And after they've been taken to you, you forgot what you lived. So, you just go on with your life, not feeling like there's something missing. And when you get them back, they are just images. You don't remember you lived them, so it's just like seeing a movie rolling before your eyes, with characters that you haven't attached to, so you don't cry when they die. What was Aphmau feeling right now... She was feeling as she was dead inside. Her vision was blurry, but she perfectly saw Lexy run away.
"Hey Aph! What's going on?" she heard Laurance say. She turned her head in his direction, only to see a second shadow at Laurance's feet. She looked with little curiosity at it, her memory starting to melt with her vision. It's her. A little voice spoke in her head.
She just stared at her, so Cali stared back. That's until Laurance spoke.
"Hey... Aph... we were... I mean I! I was wondering if I... This is going to sound a little bit crazy but can I have some of your blood?" Aphmau looked at him, no trace of surprise or fear on her face. She grabbed the knife from his hands and was ready to cut her palm, but she suddenly felt a force taking over her body, and with the speed of light, she nearly stabbed herself in the chest. But Cali knew that was going to happen, so she had already switched places with Laurance, and jumped on the black-haired girl pulling her hand, but not taking the knife out of her hands. Laurance was looking at the scene, scared to the core.
"Haven't seen you in a while Cali." Aphmau said, but with a slightly changed voice. Laurance could also notice that her eyes were a brighter shade of red, more lively than Aphmau's original color. He could see the passion burning in her eyes. That was definitively not the Aphmau that he knew.
"Same to you Irene." Cali answered to her greeting. She let go of her hand, letting it fall on the side of the girl.
"You haven't aged one bit." Aphmau, or perhaps Irene told her as she cut her hand. She didn't even flinch as the red liquid started to flow out of her bruised hand, and down on the dirt. She just looked at it fall, her eyes reflecting it, making her look terrifying.
"You're scaring Laurance." Cali pointed out. The girl slowly raised her head and looked at the second shadow next to Cali's.
"Right. Well... I need to go now. That girl is freaking out inside. See ya later." she hands Cali the knife, than falls of her feet. In the meantime, Laurance was already back in is body and was knelled down next to Aphmau, who was now back to normal, and puking at the root of the closest tree.
"Aphmau! What's going on?" he asked panicked. She raised her head to be at the same height with Laurance's eyes, than, with the most terrified voice in the world, she told him:
"You tell me."
Zane and Garroth were staying in the lobby of the castle, chatting. You could see that those were the originals, as their eyes were a brighter shade of blue.
"When do you think they'll get here?" Zane asks his friend. That was right. They weren't actually brothers. Him, Vylad and Garroth were just best friends and weapon brothers.
"Soon enough. They must." they both looked at the portal that was still inactive. Silence.
"Do you think Irene got back her memories?" Garroth asks him. He just looks in the void. Even if she did got back her memories, they wouldn't be able to be together. Because these bodies were no longer theirs. There were new souls put inside these bodies. They just inhabited them until the last part of their souls died or moved to another body, then the bodies would be fully owned by these new souls that they created.
An explosion.
A ray of light.
They both turned their heads, to see that the portal was now open. And at the entrance were none other than Irene and Cali.
