The Apology

Katherina

After school Augusta and I walked to the hospital room Keith was staying at. It seemed a bit over dramatic having him stay the night there but that's how his parents are. It took a while to finally find what room he was in but when we did i got cold feet.

"Augusta maybe we shouldn't see him."

"No lunch for you tomorrow then."

"I can live with that."

"Katherina we've been friends for a week and I already feel like we are sisters so as your sister I am not going to let you chicken out understand."

"Fine but go inside with me at least."

"No problemo."

We walked in silence to his room and knocked quietly. To my surprise Keith let us in.

Keith

What's Katherina doing here? I bet she feels bad not like she should I did deserve it for crossing the line.

"Hi Keith um I came here to apologize for my actions."

"No no it's my fault i was being a selfish prick." She looked surprised that i was being nice. She should know better than anyone that I'm not always an inconsiderate jerk. "Oh and um August right sorry for calling you a blue haired bimbo."

"I-It's alright. It's not-t the f-first time-e I he-ard that. Oh and-d it's A-Augusta close enough-h tho-ugh." She chuckled like a five year old wow have I really gotten so bad that I'm hurting nice people as well.

"Right got it A-Augusta." She grinned. It got way to awkward way to fast though.

Katherina broke the silence. "So when will you be back at school?"

"Friday hopefully if my nose heals a bit. You know you really are strong and it doesnt help that you went all out on me." I laughed slightly. "Do you guys want to hang out on Saturday you know so this thing doesnt happen again maybe we can talk it through."

I regret I said that both their faces were showing all kind of emotion. Katherina's looked confused, embarrassed and angry while Augusta's looked sad and worried. How are they good friends they're so different?

"Scratch that what about some time next week?"

"Sure why not."

"I-I guess s-so."

Augusta

We said our goodbyes to Keith and left soon after. "I thought you said he was mean?"

"That's why I was so confused. He didn't seem normal maybe I set him straight and don't forget you're paying for the ice cream when we get their ok!" She smiled.

"Alright anyway at least we sorted things out with him. We're even going to see each other next week wont that be fun."

"Oh that reminds me."

"What?"

"Why do you always tense up when someone mentions Saturday?"

So she did notice i thought i covered it up well i guess not. I have to tell her though since she told me about Keith. Right?

Augusta seemed lost in thought maybe trying to evade my question.

"Oh come on Augusta you can trust me right?"

"Of course I can its just...."

"Look I wont judge you if it's bad ok I'm not like that and you should know that by now."

"No i do know that!" she started trailing off again. "Fine I'll tell you when we get to the ice cream parlor."

"Pinky swear?"

"Pinky swear"
