Silence. That's what surrounded the table that had two plates of rice with vegetable and roasted chicken meat. It was a delicious meal, but the two sitting by the table remained quiet. You gulped nervously, your fingers twiddling with each other as a drop of sweat formed on your temple. You meekly glanced at the emotionless female in front of you as you gave a sheepish smile. "So, Mikasa-san...was it?"

"Yes." The girl with shoulder length black hair replied simply with her monotone voice. Silence again. Your eyes darted around, not wanting to meet her stern gaze in the awkward atmosphere. You calmed yourself and made eye contact.

"You want to play 20 questions? Y-y'know, to get to know each other better," you suggested.

"Sure." Came her one word answer. You shifted in your seat awkwardly as you gulped.

"Ok, I'll start. How old are you?"

"20. What made you want to come on this?" Mikasa asked with her monotonous voice and blank face.

"You mean this date? Ah, it's a long story."

So, to start with the story, your aunt and mom had been glancing at you throughout one day. You knew they were discussing something about you, but you did not know what. At last, during dinner, they suddenly suggested that you go on a blind date that they had organized with some of their other friends. Your mother had said, "(Y/N), you're almost turning 21 but we haven't seen any girlfriend from you. So, we decided to let you go on this blind date and find a girl for you." And so, after groaning, you were here.

Mikasa hid a glint of interest in her eyes. "Ok."

The two of you exchanged questions after questions. It was surprising to you that the two of you had so much in common.

"So, my mother was like 'Aw~ my little boy is growing up' and I was like 'Seriously?'" You laughed at your own story as you shared a memory of you with Mikasa. You grinned when you saw a ghost of a smile on her lips. "Hey! You're smiling! Hehe." You exclaimed as Mikasa blinked in surprise, her lips thinning back into a line. Head turning away, she grumbled under her breath. You sweat dropped. 'What happened to her?'

The two of you were now strolling on the streets after the lunch. You really want to get to know Mikasa well, be it if she was your friend or girlfriend. She caught your attention, you admitted. There was not much that would interest you so you were quite happy that you met her.

Meow. You stopped in your footsteps and turned to the dark alley beside you. Mikasa stopped beside you, giving you a questioning look. You grinned as you saw a familiar tail. You started to walk into the alley before you felt a grip on your wrist. Mikasa had grabbed you. With a stern expression, she asked, "Where are you going?"

You laughed softly. "I saw a cat just now. Want to see it with me?" Mikasa pursed her lips. You could tell that she was debating on going into the alley or being safe by walking away. She finally sighed and you grinned, taking it as a sign of permission.

You walked towards the alley cat with Mikasa trailing behind you, an excited expression on your face. You kneeled down and cooed for the cat. The black cat turned its head to you sharply, showing its glowing green eyes as it crouched lowly, being wary of a new scent. Slowly but surely, the cat approached you and finally warmed up to you as you smiled and pet the small animal with your (S/c) hand, occasionally massaging under its ear. Mikasa watched as you played with the cat, the corner of her lips tilted slightly.

Suddenly, the cat perked its head up and turned away from you. You raised a brow in confusion. It gave out a meow before bolting off.

"A-ah... It's gone," you commented dejectedly, standing up. Mikasa felt that something was wrong and quickly raised her guard, her eyes narrowing as she scanned her surroundings.
