Shoes squeaked against the wooden indoor floor. The steady rhythm of bouncing balls echoed throughout the halls, accompanied by shouts of command from players while others called out for the ball. Kuroko released laboured breaths as she struggled to keep up with her training.

Being a basketball player, others would expect them to have excellent stamina to last 40 minutes of running back and forth on a court twice the size of a Badminton court while their minds worked on strategies on the spot in games. But, it was one of Kuroko's weakness.

Beep! A whistle squeaked. The team of girls training let out chains of relieved sighs as they scrambled to the bench to grab their refreshments. A small breath came from the light blue-haired girl as she calmly glided over to her bottle and towel.

Though halfway there, she was pressed down like a button and came to a stop. Her light blue eyes drifted to the interruption knowingly. "Kagami-san, can you release me." She spoke in her usual monotonous voice.

The wild redhead grinned at the shorter girl that returned her look with an indifferent gaze. "I come to greet you and that's what I get?" Kagami's crescent shaped closed eyes did not match her darkening expression.

"It hurts, Kagami-san. Please release me," Kuroko replied simply, her tone unchanging.

"Hey, what are you girls doing?" A brown haired male called out to the two players with colourful hair. Riko raised his paper fan and pointed at them. "You don't look tired at all. Training's too easy for you huh? Want me to take it up a notch?"

The two that was addressed shivered at the threatening tone and immediately separated, heading to their belongings.

Training had ended. Kagami stood at the entrance of the school's indoor sports hall waiting for the short-haired female.

"How long more do you need, Kuroko?! I'm leaving now!" Kagami sighed in irritation as she turned on her toes and headed for the school gates.

"You shouldn't abandon people like that." Kuroko suddenly spoke from beside Kagami.

Letting out a scream, the redhead made a weird pose as she threw a glare at the shorter female. "Don't scare me like that!"

"I was here the whole time."

"As if." Kagami clicked her tongue and adjusted her bag.

"Aah! Kuro-chan!!"

The two Seirin players were on their way to the usual spot before a voice caught their attention. The duo turned their head to the source and saw a (h/c) head bouncing excitedly towards them.
