01| Girl Meets Texas

"Morning ma" I said walking into the kitchen jumping on top of the counter as my mom Angela made breakfast
"Morning Cia" she replied looking up at me then back down at the eggs
"Zay's picking me up in a few minutes and I'm gonna go see Lucas if that's alright" I asked
"Of course" she replied handing me a plate of breakfast with a fork I thanked her as she sat down I put some eggs in my mouth followed by toast
"Are you excited to see Lucas" mom asked
"Yeah I heard some of his city friends came with" I replied she nodded when the door bell went off I took another mouth full of my breakfast then jumped off the counter to answer the door
"Hey" Zay said as I opened the door
"Zay" I replied hugging him
"It's nice to see you to but if we wanna get to Lucas before he dies we better get going" he said
"Ok" I replied
"Mom I'm leaving" I yelled grabbing my phone then running out the door with Zay

We walked into the tent I looked around and saw a formiller face who was standing next to two girls a blonde and a brown then a brown boy I run up from behind Lucas and jumped On his back
"Welcome home partner" I yelled
"Garcia Finn Hunter" he yelled sitting up
"Garcia Finn Hunter" he repeated then hugged me
"God you scared me" he said standing up then helping me up
"Sorry tradition is tradition" I replied brushing off my dress which now had dirt on it then I turned to the three others
"Texas lady" the boy said coming up to me I looked at Lucas and Zay like really they both nodded
"City boy" I replied he smiled like a idiot and nodded I nodded back and looked at the boys
"I'm Garcia Finn" I said
"I'm Riley and this is Maya" the brown haired one said pointing to her then her friend
"So how do you know huckleberry here" maya asked
"Huckleberry" I laughed "the name stuck" I finished
"What do you mean" Riley asked
"That's why I didn't bother me when Maya called me it because Cia already did" Lucas said putting a arm around my shoulder for a friendly hug by Riley's smile fading from the arm around me I could tell she like him but Maya I couldn't tell
"Well welcome to Austin" I said
"Thanks" Maya replied then poppy Jo came over
"Poppy jo" I said giving him a hug
"Howdy Garcia" he replied hugging me back
Then the announcer said something about tombstone and up on the screen where all of us were looking camp a video from passed riders Riley and Maya's faces both went blank Maya's the most
"take off your riding stuff you're not going out there" Maya said turning to Lucas
"Maya don't shake his confidence" Riley said
"No Riley he's not going out there" Maya said
"You can do this can't you" Riley asked Lucas he didn't have an answer
"Zay he can do it right" Riley asked
"Totally" Zay replied
"Honestly" I said
"Your dead" Zay said patting Lucas on the back
"Lucas you can't do this" I said stepping in he looked at me then back to Maya
"If you do this I'll never talk to you again" she said before walking out of the tent I went to follow when Lucas grabbed my arm
"Let her go" he said
"Lucas what are you doing" I asked he paused
"I'm riding tombstone the bull" he said turning and walking out while putting on his helmet

"Now Lucas friar will ride tombstone"
Riley, Farkle, and I stood up on the gate with poppy Jo next to me then the buzzer went off and the let the bull go all the air in my body left and I couldn't breath I was scared Lucas is my best friend and I was scared for his life then the buzzer went off again and he flew off the dust cleared and he was just laying there
"Lucas" Riley and I yelled at the same time then the three of us climbed over the fence to Lucas as Riley got him up I looked up at the timer
"Lucas" I said turning to him
"What" he asked still laying on the ground
"You 4 seconds" I said he shot up and looked at the clock
"Lucas friar beat tombstone"
Everyone cheered Riley and Farkle were making sure he was ok when I looked up to a hill where Maya sat I stood up and walked off

I walked closer I didn't think Maya knew I was there
"Is he ok" Maya asked
"Um yeah he's fine" I said sitting down next to her
"And he beat the record" I added she nodded
"Are you really not gonna talk to him again" I asked she shrugged
"Why couldn't you watch him" I asked she looked down then it finally clicked
"You couldn't watch him because you like him" I said she nodded
"You like Lucas" Riley asked both of our heads show up Maya was pale as F I put my hand on her knee then left leaving her and Riley alone to talk

I sat in my bedroom watching freaks and geeks when I get a text message I look at my phone and see one from Lucas
Hey could we come over? all of us?

I replied with a simple yes then ran out into the living room where my mom was working
"Mom" I asked
"Yeah" she asked
"Could Lucas Zay Maya Farkle and Riley come over" I asked
"Sure" she replied I nodded

"So I was thinking maybe you could stay with me and my family" Riley said as we sat in my bay window
"My mom would never let me go" I replied
"Your moms name is Angela Moore right" Maya asked
"Yeah" I replied
"My mom is Topanga Matthews there friends from high school" Riley said
"Maybe I could go to New York then" I said Riley cheered happily
