The bed was empty once again as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes. "Jenna? Tyler?" I called out unsure. Maybe calling Tyler my dad after our fight would upset him.

He walked in. My head turned to the alarm clock, eight-thirty, "I'm late for school!" I rushed out quickly to get ready as he stopped me with a soft chuckle.

"I called the school already. You're staying home baby. How does four months sound?" He giggled.

My mouth dropped to the floor. "Really?" My hands clasped over my mouth in pure happiness.

"Well you'll be our roadie. We can't have our roadie getting stressed out by school now, can we?" He grinned.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" He held his arms open widely as I wrapped my hands around his body.

Tyler bent down so he was my height, kissing my hair apologetically for yesterday.

"I love you." I muttered and pressed my lips to his cheek.

Jenna cooed from the door, saying a drawn out, "Awee."

"I love you too baby." He smiled his crooked smile, rubbing his scratchy chin against my cheek.

"So what're we going to do today?"

"Well I'm going to cook us up a nice breakfast. Then maybe we can listen to some of the music my tour-mates composed?"

"Who are you touring with?" I knew nothing about the subject, but my dad's eyes lit up at the topic of music. I didn't listen to much music, but sure did love singing.

Music was hard to come by, the orphanage didn't offer much. No creativity wasn't even expressed there, they only taught you to work, and behave.

The only talent I would even consider me to have was my voice. Did Tyler sing?

"Ever heard of Panic! At the Disco? They're alternative, maybe not many kids listen to them in your middle school, maybe in high school?" He rambled.

I shook my head no.

"Fall Out Boy, ever heard of them?"

My face tilted into a little smile. "Yeah, I've heard a couple songs. Don't know anything about them though." I beamed, did Tyler know Fall Out Boy?

They were celebrities! Was Tyler a celebrity? He couldn't have been, he walked to the studio, he adopted me, an orphan. He was living in an apartment in Ohio.

"So you do have good music taste!" He pinched my cheek softly.

"Well sorta. The orphanage didn't really let our creativity shine. Music was rare in there." I admitted. "But during music class at school... I... well... –nevermind it's stupid." My head hung low embarrassed.

He lifted my chin with his hand. "What is it Lily? You can tell me anything." He nodded. For some reason, him saying my name lovingly, gave me confidence.

"Well I know you're in a band, so maybe you sing. But I feel like that's the only thing I'm good at." My voice went quiet. "The only reason I was put on this earth, that I'm alive." I added.

His eyes widened, then softened. "Lily, you were put on this earth because God has a plan for you. Don't doubt yourself. And yes, as a singer myself, I'd love to hear you?"

"I don't know, can you sing for me first? I get nervous." My fingers fiddled with the end of my shirt.

"Of course." He cleared his throat and crossed his legs.

"A brave man said, 'You put a name to a song. And it won't change no matter what goes wrong.' I'll try my best to find a face and a name, I'll sing until we both are one in the same."

My dad rang out softly, a voice clear as crystal, but soft enough to be a whisper.

I held in my excitement, squeals bubbling in my stomach from his lovely voice.

"Didn't have much time to see why I was found. Had to say goodbye, as time ran out. Sail across the world
Just to find a pearl, on the other side. Hope the pearl won't forget this song, and won't forget the sky."

He sang more parts, it repeated. My heart swelled with joy.

He stopped his song with a smile, my hand now in his tenderly.

"I hope you don't forget this moment, my pearl." He spoke and kissed my hair.

Realization hit me, Tyler called me his pearl. The song was for me. The first time I'd heard him sing, and it was all a poetic masterpiece for me.

"I won't forget this moment, Daddy." I hugged him tightly.

"Now let's hear you sing." He smiled as I nodded and didn't notice my teary-eyes.

He swiped his thumb under my eyes as I thanked him, and cleared my throat to begin. But starting from the chorus of the song I knew. I couldn't bare to sing in front of him for a whole song, so I cut it out.

"The truth, hurts worse, than anything, I can bring myself to do, to you." I repeated the chorus and a couple other lines, remembering the singer's voice and how it dipped lower, for sure I sang soprano. But tried my best to impress Ty.

Lily's eyes showed emotion as she sang, I squeezed her hand as she went from neutral, to sad, and fear.

"I'm sorry, that's all I can do." She muttered shyly and looked away from me.

"That was incredible! Ohmigod my daughters gonna be famous too. Holy shit–I mean, excuse my language, don't repeat that. Ohmigod Lily you didn't tell me you could sing?! Well you did today, but I think it was destiny, for us to meet like that at the school." I rambled as she stopped me.

"Breath Tyler, geez." She chuckled.

"I get that you're unconfident. Your voice is strong though, you have a confident, strong, loud voice. How does a little girl even produce a sound like that?" My mouth hung open in amazement.

"But, I want you to know, that I believe you're an amazing singer. And you don't need to be shy, it'll take some getting used to, but I could see you already being famous with a voice like that." I gave her back a pat.

"Thank you." She swung her hand in mine.

"Now that you've shown me you can sing, and it was a Fall Out Boy song, let's get to know them by watching videos of them?" I motioned to my laptop sitting on the table.

"I'd love that. With Panic! At the Disco too, of course." She remembered the band name and took a seat next to me, snuggling into my side.

She smiled up at me occasionally, I'd ruffle her hair, and admire my talented daughter, Lily Joseph.
