It was a weird sensation. But it felt right. Let me explain.

Alex was different. But she kept it interesting, opened up to me.

"Yeah so my parents totally ignore me, unless it's to get me in trouble." She sighed, I stared at her nose ring curiously.

"I'm sorry. Yeah I used to know how that felt. I went through a rebellious phase only a couple months ago. I'd do anything to piss off my Dad and Mom. Because I wanted their attention."

"Well at least your parents are still together." She sighed. "And don't send you to private school. I hate the girls there. So snobby." I related again. But didn't let her know.

I consoled her, running a hand over her back as we stared out at my pool. It was too cool for that now, but the hot tub sounded nice.

"Yeah, I guess. It just sucks having younger parents, they always know what's up."

"How old were they again?" She asked, drinking from a juice pouch I'd offered her.

"My Dad's Twenty-nine and my Mom's twenty-six." I explained nonchalantly, she raised her eyebrows, thinking I was lying.

"Oh right, sorry I forgot to say I'm adopted." I laughed. "No way would my Dad be thirteen years older than me."

"That's crazy, like wow. Literally your Mom is as old as my sister."

"But he's like a stereotypical Dad, strict, acts old. I love him though." She sighed again heavily. "Sorry if that came off as bragging." I apologized.

"It's alright. I've had family problems my whole life. They've been buying my love since I was a kid. I just want somebody to actually care for once."

"Hey Alex, I care. Dude you're cool, and your parents will regret what they're doing, because you're gonna do great things." She smiled for a split second, her face turning red.

"That's nice of you to say Lils."

"Hey want to sit in the hot tub?" It's got these cool jets and lights. I went to remove the cover.

"Geez what do your parents do for a living?" She gasped when I'd pressed a button on a remote, the built in water-proof speakers playing soft music.

I shrugged my shoulders, not wanting to answer her question. I didn't want my old friends. Users.

Alex would freak if I told her, showed her my followers. I'm surprised she didn't know who I was, a mini local celebrity. In fact, we got free donuts from a market here. Also because Dad was friends with the kid in high school.

"I didn't bring a swimsuit." She gasped.

"Oh I have extras. Old ones that might fit your tiny size." I joked as she pushed me.

"You're not even that tall. Like five seven, eight?" She guessed right.

"Five two?" I joked with her. "Okay you're five four."

"And a half." She laughed, getting up to go inside, I showed her around my room.

"A lot of cool bands you listen too." She smiled. Shit I forgot about the platinum record that sat above our fireplace. If she knew bands she'd know my Dad probably.
