People were already arriving and I had invited the whole grade and my bro invited some from other grades too, the fact is I invited everyone but Nicolas for obvious reasons. It was Me, Luke, Alex, Caro, Emi, Sebastian, and a few other people including Valentina, Stefanie, Natalie R, Jake, David, Karena, Henry and Sofia. I didn’t exactly love these people but they were at the party. All of us were up in the game room while the party was going on downstairs and people were playing truth or truth. Its like truth or dare but its times for 1 minute and you have to answer truthfully of you drink. It was boring so far.
It was about to be my turn with Jake when Nicolas arrived. WTF.
“Hey Alex, guys. Am I late?” he kissed Alex and I wanted to say you weren’t invited but I had an idea.
“No actually… we are just playing truth or truth and its, you against me” I practically growled it but nobody noticed. He glared at me but didn’t protest, we both knew what was about to happen.
“Start… now” Caro said,
Nicolas started “ok Samantha, how many guys have you kissed and how many boyfriends have you had?” Easy question but there was something in it only I would understand.
“Three and none.”
“Name everyone you were with the night of Kevins party” I wasn’t wasting time.
“Alex, I was with Caro at one point and Haley and...” he paused before saying “Natalie H” Only Caro and I knew why he was with her.
“What’s the event that has ever worried you the most in your life?” He thought he could get me.
“Last time there was a party I didn’t remember anything about the night”
“Liar” He thought… wow.
“Nope, I swear” that earned me a growl. Only 20 seconds left.
“Why don’t you tell everyone about Natalie H Nicolas?
“What about her?”
“You know exactly what im talking about”
“Sammy what are you talking about?” Alex said.
“Tell her asshole, tell everyone.”
“I…I was…” he looked at Alex then down “I was sleeping with Natalie H for the last 3 months Alex.”
I could see she wanted to cry but she stood her ground. “YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!!! I HATE YOU” She slapped him and ran out, the rest of the girls following her, but I couldn’t go until the end of this game.
“WAIT ALEX!” he yelled. “Are you happy?” He growled. I smirked.
“Now Samantha you have to tell the rest of us what happened with your dad” I froze. I couldn’t tell them that.
DING!!!! “Times up!” said David. I was saved by the bell; I thought I would actually have to tell them. I couldn’t do that.
“Everyone is going to know, Samantha and I will tell them.” He whispered before walking out. Luke came up to me when everyone else left.
“What was that about?”
“nothing… nothing important”
“Does this have to do with that dream, was it your dad?”
“Luke I do not want to have this conversation right now please just drop it.”
“Was he blackmailing you?!”
“Luke I said I DON’T WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT!!!”
“Why?!?! Why can’t you tell me I thought you trusted me I thought…nevermind”
“Luke I do trust you this is just something that I can’t go around telling people!!!”
“Im not just anyone Sam! Why cant you just tell me?!?!”
“Because I cant ok?!?! DROP IT!”
“I thought we were actually becoming something, I thought we could be together but no you can never tell me anything! “
“SHUT UP it’s not like you tell me much either Luke! I don’t know a thing about you!!!! And you seriously thought we could be more than friends? If you did why did you say that back at the river. We both know that’s not what you want!”
“Sammy, I didn’t…”
“Shut up, just leave please”
“but…”
“I don’t want to hear it, get out of my house.”
“ok…” He left and I stood there. Fuck. I didn’t want to fight with him. I walked towards my room. Hopefully Alex is ok… I walked into my room.
“Alex, are you ok?” she was sitting on my bed crying the girls sitting next to her.
“Do I look ok?!” she snapped.
“How long have you known” she looked at me with sad eyes.
“I had a suspicion since Kevin’s party and I was sure since Tuesday…”
“YOU DIDN’T THINK TO TELL ME IN THE WHOLE TWO WEEKS. YOU KNEW THE WHOLE TIME AND YOU DIDN’T FUCKING TELL ME?!” I couldn’t tell her about you know what.
“ALEX I TRIED TO TELL YOU!!! EVERYTIME I TRIED TO HE APPEARED AND HE BLACKMAILED ME!!! DO YOU KNOW WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN I GO TO SCHOOL MONDAY?!?!”
“WHAT??? WHAT CAN POSSIBLY BE WORSE THAN THIS?!!? I JUST REALIZED MY BOYFRIEND HAS BEEN CHEATING ON ME!!!!! WHAT COULD HE POSSIBLY HAVE AGAINST YOU?!?!”
I froze. Don’t zone out, not now. “I… I can’t tell you!”
“oh really?! I thought we were BFFs, you can tell me everything!”
“I CANT TELL YOU EVERYTHING ALEX I CANT EVERYONE HAS THEIR SECRET I KNOW YOU DO!!!! AND I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW YOU AT THE TIME SO DON’T YOU DARE TELL ME I CANT KEEP SECRETS!!”
“I don’t know who you are Samantha, the girl I know tells us everything and protects us, she doesn’t hide things like this for that long.” With that she stormed out the girls following her.
“She’s right Sammy, it wasn’t worth it.” Emi said.
Caro walked out, but didn’t say anything, I know she knew too.
When they were gone I screamed!!
WHY CANT ANYTHING GO FUCKING RIGHT FOR ONCE?!?! Now Emi and Alex were mad at me, and I screwed up my relationship with Luke great.
I walked downstairs with a fake smile on my face and grabbed the first drink I saw feeling it burn as it slid down my throat. I grabbed a cup and filled it before going to my back yard. It was basically the part with concrete and a pool and then a part with grass, I loved it out here. I laid down on the grass and looked towards the sky. A couple of stars were in the sky not many. I was so lost in thought that I didn’t hear it when someone sat next to me.
“Hey is something wrong?” It was Daniel.
“No, im fine” I lied.
“You don’t seem fine. Whats up?” I would tell him, but he would kill Nicolas, I could deal with this.
“Nothing, its not important Alex is just mad at me for keeping a secret.”
“Well, whatever it is, she will get over it.”
“I hope so” I really doubt that she will ever get over it.
“C’mon in, everyone already left we have to clean up” Wow. How long was I out there?
We cleaned up and he didn’t press anymore though I know he knew there was more to the story. And That’s why you don’t play truth or truth at a party. I lost some of my best friends and Luke today… Why can’t life just go easy on me for once?!
