Chapter 18: Missing

Sammy POV

I walked to our usual lunch table spotting Emily and Caro quickly.

“Hey girls” I said smiling. I had a ton of worries on my mind right now.

“Hey Sammy” They answered.

“Any news on Alex?” She may be mad at my but im not mad at her.

“Yeah, I saw her this morning before coming to school, shes ok, extremely bored though. She is going to be let out tomorrow” Emi answered.

“That’s great” I said.

Emi looked at me in the eyes and it was as if we had read each other’s mind.

“I need to talk to you” we said at the same time. The second we said it the three of us burst out laughing.

“You guys totally planned that!” Caro said.

“Actually we didn’t. So do you want to start or I can?” I asked Em. Caro could stay there wasn’t a problem and she could help out.

“How about you start Sammy” Em answered.

“Ok then…” I hesitated. “I don’t really know how to say this but you need to get away from Jake”

It took her two seconds to process this before she got mad.

“I need to get from Jake?! Why?! Oh let me guess Luke told you!”

“What?! Why does it even matter who told me, I don’t want to see you getting hurt Em, so please just distance yourself”

“So Luke did tell you! I knew it! You can’t trust him Sammy! This isn’t about Jake, it’s about Luke.”

“Excuse me?! How is this about LUKE!? He has been there for me when nobody else has and he knows more about me than any of you do! I trust him and Jake is the one that doesn’t deserve your trust! He is a player Em, bigger than Sebastian, and Sebastian actually told me that he always steals his girlfriends. He is using you!”

“Oh please! Of course he isn’t using me! Luke is using you! He is rich. He could have anyone he wants so why you? Huh have you thought of that, and Since when are you talking to my Ex Boyfriend?!”

Ouch. That hurt.

“Fine then. I see how it is… im not good enough for him and I’m not even good enough to hang out with you Emily.” I stood up. “And by the way, Sebastian will always be better than Jake and if you can’t see that you can’t trust him. I feel sorry for you” With that I walked out and away, holding in the tears that had formed. My best friend didn’t think I was good enough for Luke. So who was I good enough for?

Anger formed inside me. If they don’t want me to help them then fine! Let it be! Emily can just go to hell, why should I care? It’s not like I matter to her. TWICE I try to help and none of the times has it worked. Emily knows nothing about Luke, she doesn’t know him like I do. He loves me the way I am and I know it. God why did she have to be so idiotic and not rational!

“Sammy! Are you even listening to me? What’s going on?” Caro called after me.

“Luke told me about Jake, Sebastian confirmed it, Emi just accused Luke of being a bad boyfriend, and said I don’t deserve him! Do me a favor and tell her to go run back to her little friend”

“What?! She just told me Jake told her that Luke was bad”

“Oh please!” I turned around “Just look at what she said! Luke obviously isn’t guilty of anything just Emily and Jake”
