Samantha POV
I opened my eyes yet again. I didn’t do much lately. Another boring day, more bad news. Nothing really happened after Monday, but the nightmares were back more often. It has gotten so bad that even Daniel’s company didn’t help all the time. He didn’t go to work today, it was Friday. Not matter how much I insisted he said he didn’t want to leave me alone, even though he had left me alone Wednesday and Thursday and I was obviously fine. Daniel knocked on my door as he walked in.
“Hey sis”
“Hey Dani”
“How are you feeling” He said sitting on the edge of my bed.
“I’m fine Daniel, just like always”
He looked at me as if I was lying but didn’t say anything.
“I go another call from dad” He said. I groaned.
“Yeah… He said their going to be back by Wednesday…” It felt like a bullet just pierced through my heart. It started beating faster.
“Their coming back so soon? That’s barely a week…”
“Yeah, and they say that they don’t have to work which is extra weird… I can’t be around all the time though…”
“Don’t worry, I grew up Dan, I can take care of myself now”
“I know…” he sighed. “I guess im just paranoid.”
“Yeah” I forced a smile; even though that was the last thing I wanted to do.
“I think they have something important to do here… im not exactly sure what it is though”
“As long as they don’t stay long im sure I’ll be fine” He must have heard the nervousness in my voice because he hugged me.
“It’s going to be Ok Sammy”
“Yeah I hope”
Just then his phone vibrated, meaning he got a message. He smiled when he looked down at it.
“Daniel when are you going to present her to me?! I am dying to meet her!” I laughed.
“What? I have no idea what you’re talking about” he lied.
“Bro I know you better than you know yourself, you like someone and im betting she likes you back!”
“Well, I don’t know! I was planning on asking her out but…” I cut him off.
“Daniel. Brother. Do not let me stop you from asking the girl of your dreams out! This would be the first relationship you have in two years! And I know you don’t just want to fuck her” I said winking.
