The Talk

This is the continuation of the previous chapter. Roberta finally decides to break it down to Michael about her past. ... Hope you guys like it...

Roberta's POV
We are now on the top on the Ferris wheel. I am comfortable here. I feel like nobody can here me just him.

Me: so I know you're like why are we up here but I am comfortable here. Nobody can here is but us. So are you ready?

Mike: I absolutely understand. Yes I'm ready.

Me: good let's crack open a case that I had closed so many years ago.

Mike: I'm ready.

Me: so, you probably don't know but when I moved to California when I was 13 . My god parents was fortunate to find a beautiful house on the outskirts of Compton. We went to south Compton High . When we got to the 11th and 12th grade the McKessey family already had dirt on their name. Micah's sister Jennifer who is two year older that her and I was the girl everybody wanted and she let everybody have her. We'll hear about it when we get to school and I didn't like it. There was this girl who bullied my friend for two years. The girl wanted to kill herself. The bully would make sure we went through hell. I use to always make sure she didn't mess with me by making sure I look nice and while doing that I gain confidence in myself. One day the girl was in the bathroom with the door lock and I really had to use the bathroom she heard my voice and unlocked it but didn't open it. I was fast enough to catch her before she jumped out the window in the girls bathroom. Where the bathroom was she would've killed herself for sure that's how high the school is. Luckly my bodyguard was out the door he heard me scream for help and help take her away from the window. That Bully made her want to kill herself and she was a very pretty girl and made awesome grades and we graduated the same day. She thanked me for everything . We lost contact but I know she's OK now. I always am never satisfied with me. While gaining confidence I also lost some. The bully and I had some words. She was smart she knew Caleb is my bodyguard. One day he wasn't with me and she started to pick with me and because I told her what she needed to hear she left me alone. When you talked to Debbie about me I felt like I was in school again because you didn't come tell me what the problem is you went to another person and talked about me. So let me clear the air... Do I want more children yes I do, the reason why I haven't been worried about it is because I'm on a regiment and I don't know when my doctor wants me off. If you want we can make a doctor's appointment with my Dr and we can talk to her about it. Please don't ever get impatient with me. I'm not perfect but I do try. Whatever I'm not doing right please tell me. Don't tell somebody else. That hurts because we suppose to be best friends. I tell you everything. I tell you things that Maleigha doesn't know. You tell me things that my mom doesn't even know. We are a team and that's how it should be.

Michael's POV
As we sit on this Ferris wheel and I listen to my wife describe what life was like in high school I feel bad. I knew she lived in Compton or rather the outer parts of Compton. She graduated valedictorian at south Compton high school. I never thought that in some way she was bullied. See that's that persona that she puts on. She doesn't talk about her past and I see why. She described how she felt when I talked to Debbie about her she felt like something was wrong with her when she is above perfect. She's right we are a team and best friends. We need to act more like it. We are more than just parents...

Me: I understand. I'm sorry for making you feel like I couldn't tell you anything. We are best friend. We are more than just parents and we need to act more like it. I'm sorry you went through that. I had no idea and now I see why you don't want to talk about it much. You are a good person and good friend. Remember that. I love you.

Roberta: I love you more Mike.

We got off the Ferris wheel and went inside where I am now laying in bed waiting for my good luck charm. She came out the bathroom with a bugs bunny shirt and blue pajama pants and her hair puffy and curly.

Roberta: hey baby

Me: hey babe, you ready for bed?

Roberta: Yes sir .

We flipped through the channels and to our surprise.. Good times is on. We watch the episode when I realized that on the screen I see a younger version of Roberta on the screen. When I look at Roberta she look like she seen a ghost she starts to slide down in the covers. I told you she is very shy. We watch it and by the end of the episode I was in awe at how good a actress she is and how lucky I am to have a beautiful woman in my life. She has taught me so much and I am happy to learn so much more from her in the years to come that we have together. I turn the lamp on and the TV off and hug my wife who is sound asleep. She feels me cuddling with her and she makes herself comfortable by turning around so I can see her face as she burried it in my chest. I kiss her forehead and rub her hair and fall asleep.

You learn something new everyday....

Bullying is never a good thing. It destroys people. It even makes them feel like they have no place on this earth to go. Nobody likes a bully.
