Laying in bed drowning in in my stupidity seemed to be all I wanted to do today. I've been laying in bed since I found out last night and it's almost eight. I thought about calling my mom and telling her everything but she would just demand I come home and I didn't want to ruin mine and my dad's relationship after it just started. Maybe michael had a part in me not wanting to go too.
Every once in a while Miranda would knock on the door to check if I was hungry or anything but I wasn't. Eventually she came in to bring me some food and as soon as her eyes set on me she walked to my side and pulled me into a hug.
"Honey what's wrong?" She asked and I cried into her shirt.
"Miranda I can't tell you. I wish I could but you're gonna hate me. My dad is too." She sighed and I laid my head in her lap. She gently weaved her hands in my hair and scratched my hair to comfort me.
"Andy I'm not gonna make you tell me but if you want to tell me I'll listen. It'll strictly stay between me and you." She gave me a smile and I just couldn't hold it in anymore.
I broke down.
"I'm pregnant." I blurted out in between my sobs. Her light gasp made me sit up and i put my head in my hands.
"Are you sure Andy?" She whispered.
"100%." I said handing her the test that rested on my nightstand. I don't know what I'm going to do. There's no way I'm able to be a mom. I'm seventeen years old. Only a teenager myself. Although ever since I was little id been against it, i understand now why people got abortions. It's not because they didn't want the child, or that they didn't want the responsibility, but that they couldn't have the child. They couldn't support the child with a stable living environment. Although physically my child would be perfectly fine here with the environment, mentally it wouldn't work. I didn't have the slightest idea on how to be a mom. I don't how to make a diaper or feed the baby. It wasn't in my cards. I could get an abortion. I could get one before I got too big and my father would never know and I wouldn't ruin his friendship with Michael. The only ones who would know would be Miranda and me.
"It's Michael's isn't it?" Miranda's words broke me out of my daze and I stared at her in surprise before nodding.
"How'd you know?" I curiously asked and she chuckled.
"Sweety I could tell y'all liked each other way since the first day I met you. Two people that are just friends don't look at each other with such emotion." I smiled at that before I was back to the stomach knotting topic.
"I want an abortion Miranda. I'm not ready for it and i can't do it." She looked me in the eyes and sighed before talking again.
"Andy I'm not a firm believer in abortion but if that's what you want I'll call tomorrow and set up and appointment for Friday when I'm off." She smiled at me before getting up and nodding her head for me to follow. "I'm kind of hungry. Care for a snack?" I nodded before letting a small smile overtake my face. We walked and opened the door and the person that stood there made my stomach clench.
Michael.
"You're pregnant?" He asked and I looked at my shoes.
"Well I think Ryan's calling me. I catch y'all two later." Miranda stated and awkwardly walked away downstairs.
"Come on in." I said and held the door open for him. Once his silhouette walked over and sat on my bed, I closed the door. "Look Michael you can't tell my dad. He'll kill me."
"Is it mine?" The first thing he asked me was if it was his. Completely ignoring the fact that we could bother get murdered if my dad figures out. I don't know what possessed me to tell him what I did but still I answered.
"No. It's Taylor's." I lied.
"You fucking slept with him?! Y'all've been dating one fucking week!" He yelled and because of his certain outbreak I jumped out of fright.
"We slept together on our first day." I muttered and saw him mood change from anger to disappointment.
"Andy can I tell you a story?" He asked kind of suddenly and I nodded and took sat next to him. "When I was in high school I fell in love with a girl name Jamie." He started off and immediately the name came to mind. 'I love you Jamie.' His words echoed in my mind as if they were on repeat. "She was my everything. Me and her and your father and mother were the couples that everybody envied just because of how happy we were. But it wasn't what they saw that should've made them happy, when we were alone it was like spending a day in heaven. No complications, no issues. Well one day I was in the cafeteria with your dad and Leah ran through doors. She told me to go to Jamie that something was wrong. Her and your mom were best friends so I believed her and ran to the garden in the school. That's where she always went to think. So I got there and she was bawling. Immediately I ran to her and pulled her In my embrace. At first she tried to fight me and push me away but me being the stubborn man I was I just held her tighter. When she told me she was pregnant I didn't know what I was suppose to feel but I felt peaceful. Really happy. I told her I wanted to marry her and support both her and the baby. But the thing was that we both needed to speak to her parents. Her mom loved me but her dad never liked me. Never, so when we told him the news he pitched a fit. He through things and started hitting me and pushing me around. But I couldn't fight back. That was her dad you know?" He started crying and I rubbed his back. "So Jamie made me go home and promise to meet me at my house later. I waited and waited and waited but she never came. So eventually I worked up the courage to call her and her dad picked up the phone. She'd got in a wreck on her way to my house. Her and the child were killed instantly. And it was all my fault. I practically murdered them because I was too stubborn and wanted to see her that night."
"Michael it was an accident. It's not your fault." I said grabbing his face in my hands.
"It was an accident that shouldn't have happened. We should've waited till school the next day to see each other." He cried and I hugged him. He didn't hesitate to hug me back. "Andy I never thought I was going to be able to feel that kind of love again. But I met you and I do now. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about Claire. I just couldn't tell you without messing everything up. And you don't have to get an abortion. If Taylor doesn't want to be a father to the baby I will. I'll adopt him as my own. I just want to be with you Andy." He cried into my neck.
"Michael, it's yours." I whispered in his ear. He retreated from my neck and looked in my eyes.
"But you said" I cut him off.
"I lied. I didn't want you in this mess. I don't even have feelings for Taylor. It was all just to make you jealous. And we didn't have sex." I said making everything clear. A small smile appeared on his face and he grabbed my face and kissed me gently.
"That's my baby?" He asked once we pulled apart and I nodded. He leaned down to lift up my shirt and placed small kisses. "Were gonna be parents Andy?"
"No Michael. I still think an abortions best." I said standing up and holding my stomach.
"No Andy please don't. I'll help you I promise. We can get married and buy a house and raise the baby together. We can do it. But we can't kill it Andy." He said.
"Michael I don't want my dad to find out about this. He'll kill you and then kill me if he ever finds out."
"Look, I'll talk to him, okay? If it's alright with him with him can please keep him?" He said in reference to the small child growing inside me. I looked once in his green eyes and nodded in defeat. He grinned real big and picked me up and twirled me. "Oh I love you Andy."he said kissing my cheek.
"I love you too Michael. But you have to talk to my dad." He nodded and we walked over and laid down on the bed. In the hour we laid there we had our first night of debating baby names. Although I wasn't sure I was ready for this or if I was going to keep it.
