After spending time just cuddling I looked over at the clock and realized it was 5:30
"Rae let me go! I got a meeting in 30 minutes!!" I say struggling to get out of her arms.
"Postpone it I just want to lay with you for a little longer" she pleads
"No after babe it shouldn't be long he just wants to talk collaboration" I say standing
"You must have forgotten I'm in the music business too. You know damn well collaborative meeting can last hours!" She says putting a pillow on her face
I climb on top of her and move the pillow from her face and she takes her arm and puts it across her eyes. I try to move it but she refuses to budge
"Baby..." I say trying to get a response but she stays quiet
I kiss her nose, then her cheek, her jaw, her chin and her neck. She groans when i kiss her neck and then i kiss her lips and she finally looks at me
"I wont let it last long okay?" I say smiling down at her
"Fine... Can i shower with you?" She asks smiling brightly
"Nope cuz we won't get out for a other hour." I say jumping off the bed
I take my quick shower and redo my make up and putting on the clothes i had earlier
"MIYA CHRISTIANS AT THE DOOR " G yells from the bottom of the stairs
"GET IT!!" I yell back "stupid" i say under my breath on my way downstairs
"Welcome, Miyara should be down in a few." G says "I'm Giovanni but you can call me G"
"Alright G, im Christian but Chris works just fine."
"Im Miyara but you can call me -"
"Beautiful" he says. I look at him and cant help but hold my breath
"Your him" i whisper out of breath.
"What?" G asks confused
Before me is almost the spitting image of the man from that night. The night i lost my parents.....
His eyes are sliver/ blue. He is big and stocky his hair cut short yet maintained but there's something off about him.
*Its not him. it can't be. He's far to young... Isn't he?? Why would he come back?!*
"Miya... Im Miya" i say finally getting my voice back. I look over at G who's staring at me intently trying to figure out whats wrong
"Nice to meet you." I say sticking my hand oh towards him
As soon as his hand touches mine i flash back to the man holding me against him trying to sooth me his puffy eyes gazing into mine and immediately retract my hand
"How old are you? If i may ask." I say
"Just turned 24 a few days ago." He says smiling "is there any particular reason you asked?"
"Just curious that's all" i say smiling back
*its not him.... He would have only been 7.....* i think to myself
"we can meet in the studio or right here in the living room wherever you prefer..." Says G taking over the silence
"Right here will be fine" he says
We sit on the couches and G begins to ask him questions like he does with all my clients before we decide whether or not i should take on their project.
I sit and stare at him probably looking quite odd and try to think of an explanation..
"Chris?" Rae says from the stairs
".....Raella! How nice to see you." He says grinning widely
"What are you doing here?" She asks her face showing aggravation
"Trying to work up a collaboration with this lovely lady...since you turned mine down" he says coolly
I look at Rae and she is balling and unballing her fists constantly
"how harsh to reject your own cousin. Tsk tsk tsk." He says shaking his head
"Cousin?" G and i say at the same time
"Yes cousin." Rae says "babe can i talk to you for a few?" She asks me not really giving me a tone of 'you can say no'
"Sure." I say standing up slowly
"Babe? Rae is this your girlfriend?" He asks a devilish grin appearing on his face "how interesting"
Rae quickly grabs my arm and pulls me into the kitchen roughly
"OW!" I say once she lets me go
"Sorry" she says kissing me arm "you can't work with him.." She states firmly
"Why?" I ask *not that i was planning to in the first place*
"He's just not good business and he's a douche" she says shrugging her shoulders.
I know there is more. She was way to wound up just for it to be "bad business"
"Is that it?" i ask hoping for more
"No. Just don't take on any of his projects i did before and it was just bad. I rejected him the 2nd time"
"Was it a bad product?" I ask confused
"No it turned out pretty good made a few thousand actually...... It was just getting there" she says shaking her head " its not worth it....trust me. Please. Don't take his offer." She says though she acts as if its more serious than shes portraying.
"Ok. Ill finish listening to his proposal and make something up to get out of the deal" i say
"Really?" She asks and i nod
"That easily?" She asks and i chuckle
"Yes, that easily... He gave me a weird feeling anyway" i say turning to walk back in the kitchen.
"Good." She says and we walk back in hand in hand. When we enter the room Chris looks over at us with a mischievous smile an i look at G who looks angered. We sit in the love seat next to the couch
"What i miss?" I ask awkwardly
"Oh nothing." Says G "shall we get on with it yea?" He says quickly and immediately begins drilling him with questions again. This time a tad bit harsher as time goes on.
"And how much exactly are you willing to pay for our services?" G asks with so much attitude it surprises me
"OKAY! We can discuss payment after I've decided if i want to take on such a task" i say stopping G before he blows
"3 million" he says coolly
"Yeah 3 mil- wait what?!" I yell
"3 million 1.5 now 1.5 after the project is complete"
"Rae, Miya kitchen now!" G says storming out of the room
We both stand up quickly and follow after him
"G what is your problem?!" I say once we reach the kitchen
"No" is all he says
"No?! What do you mean no! Do you know what i could do with 3 million dollars?!" I argue
"I thought you were going to say no!" Rae intervenes
"I was until he said he's willing to pay 3 million dollars! G i could start that assisted living center i always talk about! You know that's my dream!" I say getting more and more aggravated
"I know Miya!" He says sounding defeated "but i cant let you do it... We will get the money some other way"
"What the hell is going on?!" I yell
"What are you talking about?" He asks
"When Rae and I walked back in the room you were angry and don't say you weren't cuz i could hear it in your voice and see it on your face"
"Nothing i just don't like the guy" he says calmly
"Your lying!" I say extremely pissed now
"Whatever. The answer is no." He says firmly
"Giovanni really?!"
"Miya no!" He yells. I look over at Rae who is standing there awkwardly
"Rae what the fuck is going on?" I ask her
"Nothing." She says
"Ok cool both of you sit here and lie to my fucking face that's cool. Give me one good reason why i shouldn't take his offer." I say lowering my voice finally fed up
"Ok well... He's...." Rae starts
"His proposal was shit and it would be a waste of our time and money to work with him" G states
"That's a damn lie too. I was in there for all your questions Giovanni and you know his proposal was ingenious"
They both stop and look at each other
"So neither if you are going to tell me the truth?" I say waiting for a response and they both stay silent
"Ok well im going back and im going to take his proposal you can see your way out." I say turning to walk away
"Are you seriously kicking us out?" Rae asks astonished
"Yes and unless you are going to explain yourselves don't bother coming back" i state firmly
"Miya you gotta be fucking kidding me" G yells
"DO I LOOK LIKE IM KIDDING?! Giovanni when have i EVER not given you a good reason not to do something that i know meant the world to you Huh?! When!!!??" I ask
He stops and looks at the ground and shakes his head
"That's what i thought. Never" i say turning to leave "don't let the door hit you on the way out." I say harshly
I walk back into the living room my head high
Christian stands and i shake my head
"I apologize, lets make a deal shall we?" I say with a smile
He smiles victoriously "yes lets...."
