Chapter 21:

(Harry's POV)

With my hand wrapped tightly around his neck, the pain that Ellie's death was bringing me with each second was nothing in comparison to what I will inflict on this stranger.

"Harry." He gasped as if he were trying to bargain with me. This guy wasn't very smart. If he were, he would have known there's nothing he could do now to avoid his timely death.

"Oh so you know who I am." I stating pressing tighter on his neck which made him nod in response.

"You wouldn't mind telling me then who the hell you are?" I asked dropping him from my grasp as I threw him across the road. His body was flung a couple feet but at the speed I swung him, his body hit the floor and even I could hear that his landing was going to hurt. Good. I watched as he struggled to pick himself up, leaning on his elbows to pick himself up looking over at Ellie's body. I saw the tears brimming on the edge of his eyes and I heard him groan in agony coming from his direction. I then thought of Ellie. How she must have passed away in his arms because of his sought out affliction. I walked towards Ellie, kneeling down to her body taking her hand in mine. I never wanted to be the person around Ellie, she always made me a better person but now she was laid here dead, there was nothing holding me back.

"Tom. My name is Tom. I used to be Ellie's boyfriend and I'm a friend of the family." He coughed on the floor as he explained and answered my previous question.

"Who sent you to kill her?" I quizzed still admiring all of her lost features. I felt my own tears try and fall down my face but with my stubbornness I wouldn't let her see me like this, not even in her death.

"Nobody sent me to kill her, they sent me to watch her and take her home if she ever returned here." His voice spoke. I saw in the corner of my eye him standing up trying to collect himself to together even though he was in pain. His leg was wobbling and I knew I had probably broken a few of his bones.

"Then why did you kill her?" I asked placing her hand back down beside her body. When silence fell upon the area, it just angered me more. I stood up and glared at him, slowly approaching him trying to scare him.

"Why?" I shouted.

"I didn't mean too." He stuttered.

"Liar." I breathed

"I mean she hurt me once and it was only fair to hurt her but I never meant for it to go this far. It was like I had no control over my body. All I could think about how angry she made me." He took a few steps back as he confessed but I wasn't buying it. By the way he was talking and the way his face told me a story, there was more to this than he was letting on.

"Liar." I repeated, raising my voice sick of hearing these excuses.

"All I wanted was for her to be with me. She chose everything over me. She even chose you." He exclaimed sounding like confession was a burden that was driving him crazy.

"She chose the better man." I boasted trying to anger him. He didn't look as hurt as I was feeling inside, don't get me wrong he still looked distraught about what he had done but not as much as I was.

"Everyone knows you are no better than me. All the danger you put her in, all the deaths she's seen because of you." He declared finding an odd bravery from somewhere. But he was right. All the time she was with me, she was getting closer to death. Her family fought against us, the vampires did at one point as well, I should have known that something like this was going to happen. She warned me. Her fears were all too real and I should have listened to her.

I went to look down at her. She laid there so peaceful. All of a sudden with the blink of an eye, we watched as her body gradually became flakes that began flying away into the sky until her whole body was gone.

I looked to Tom to see if he knew what had happened considering he was a witch as I wouldn't have a clue if this was normal but by his reaction, he looked just as shocked and confused as I did .

"What just happened? Where did she go?" I asked.

"I have no idea." He commented. My attention was darting around the area to see if someone had done this without us knowing as we were distracted but I saw no one around.

"Bring her back" I muttered not wanting this to be real. I knew that with her body I would be able to get the witches to bring her back, I would even beg her parents and make a thousand promises and deals to make sure she was alive. I can only bring her back with her body here. I was in panic mode, I didn't know what to do. I ran my hand through my hair looking up from the ground in a panic.

"What?" He mumbled.

"Bring her back!" I shouted using my vampire speed to push him down to the ground.

"I don't know where she's gone." He answered from the floor, leaning on his side in discomfort.

"Then where the bloody hell is she?" I shouted again pointing at the scene of where her body should have been. He looked clueless and frankly scared. I turned away, my grief getting worse and my hunger becoming more prominent now my emotions were all over the place.
