Chapter 11:

(Harry's pov)

She's in my arms.

I've got her back.

I took her hand and guided her to my apartment as we started to walk down the road.

"Where have you been?" I asked bringing up a question on the back of my mind.

"I don't know," She said. I stopped walking, which made her turn around to face me to see my confused expression.

"What do you mean you don't know?" I asked. Why couldn't she tell me? She has been gone for 45 years without letting me know she was alive since but it's okay to not be able to say?

"Harry" She muttered. I was angry. Not at her but at the situation. At her family. At my one decision 45 years ago that I have regretted for 16,435 days.

She's gone.

I love her and I let her go with her mum and I don't understand what was going on through my head when I let her walk away. I didn't feel that what had happened was real, like I was seeing through dream until she screamed and it woke me up. I'll see her soon. We're never separated for too long.

Sat on the hill in shock trying to understand my emotions taking everything in not really clicking on what's happened with my head being held up by my hands. I just let the only woman I love be taken away. I let them win. I knew she had a past and she never really explained why her parents or especially her dad was so against the idea of vampires altogether or her being with me but to take her away like this was extreme. I'm not even sure she knew why they were doing this.

What had I done?

I had to go and find her. I could let this be the end. I ran vampire speed to her house not wanting to let him win that easy.

When I reached her house, the door was already swung wide open and everything inside was noticeably was gone as the house left an weary atmosphere of abandonment and fear.

"Hello?" I called out into the empty house. They left their house deserted because they knew I would wake up and try to find her. Her screaming my name was piercing through my head, the screams getting louder the more I began to panic. I ran around the whole house in a panic and found nothing but mess and ruin. I walked out the plantation house half heartedly whilst my whole body hung on my bones as I suddenly felt my thoughts come crumbling to the ground when this old lady running out of her home from next door and came up to me questioning me.

"Hello? Are you Barry?" She asked blocking my exit from the garden by standing at the gate.

"I'm harry" I managed to say holding all of my emotions in not really in the mood.

"Yes, Garry I've got a message for you." She explained taking my full attention.

"It's Harry" I say trying to make sure she got it right.

"That what I said. Narry. Anyway, I've been told to tell you if I see you come around these parts that you dont need to bother because the girl you're looking for is gone and she's never coming back" She stated looking up as if she was trying to remember it herself, but it was something I needed her to remember so I didn't push her to speak faster.

"I'm not playing these games old woman. Tell me where they've gone." I asked feeling hopeful with that small helpless clue. She looked at my eyes as if she was looking for something else and as she looked carefully, she shook her head when she saw what she wanted to see and suddenly became hesitant and dubious.

"I couldn't say even If I could as it would be treason. I'm only the messenger." She replied.

"You can tell the people in charge that I'm not going to stop until I find her." I stated trying to walk past her, but she blocked me with her walking stick.

"Even if you find her, you'll never be able to get her." She said.

"So you know where she is?" I asked

"I can smell the vampire on you child. I don't play you're kind's games." She stated.

"Well then, that means we're done here." I stated walking past her.

"Take my advise boy. You're playing a game with players you do not want to play with." She called after me before I ran vampire speed away.

"It's a portal for witches. I don't know much about it because as soon as I was taken away. I was pretty much locked in the house." She stuttered out being cautious about how much information she gave out, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"What do you mean?" I asked getting confused.

"They claimed it was to protect me." She explained.

"What happened there? Did they hurt you?" I quizzed as she started shrugging out of my distance as I saw the pain emerge in her eyes.

"They never physically hurt me but it was a bad place, let's just say that" She uttered looking away from me. I pull her by the hand so we were chest to chest.

"Why didn't you come back earlier?" I asked sliding my hand through her hair as our eyes locked.

"You don't know how much I've tried to come back, I've cast spells, I tried to escape but when they locked me in a room-" She spoke.

"-They what?" I interrupted, anger rising in my voice but she ignored it as she carried on explaining.

"I begged anyone but I only found out how to today when I ran from the guards" She laughs a little as tried to find amusement in it to lighten my mood. Because anyone could see how angry this was making me. After all this time thinking the worst or at least thinking her parents were caring for her and now I hear this, my free hand was going white by how tight I was gripping it so I could keep my cool. Her hand slides on my chin and then to my cheekbone making my hand loosen its tight grip. Just having her here was calming enough now all the mess was over. I brush my thumb on her lips and put my hand on her jaw, stroking her cheek. It's was so tempting to kiss those soft pink lips but before I could, she spoke up breaking the tension slightly.

"I didn't know there was a way but I found one because I couldn't let you go" She spoke. I kissed her without hesitation, pulling her close. I'm never going to hesitate to let her go again, it hurt too much to not have her in my life, I never want to feel that way again.
