Song of the chapter: Somebody Told Me - The Killers :D

Pain. Pain filled my whole body and I felt that I couldn't move. I tried opening my eyes but felt something on my face as my lashes fluttered against the cloth.

I painfully tried lifted my arm, a fear filled voice spoke,"Oh no dear! Don't do that! You've been seriously injured."

I felt the clothe lift from my eyes and I snapped my eyes open, I then realized it was a mistake. The bright lights blinded me and I fluttered my eyes multiple times before I could see.

The blurriness subsided and I could see big bright blue eyes staring at me, frightened I sat up. In front of me was a little girl with curly blonde hair, pale skin, and flushed cheeks. Her big blue eyes held concern and curiosity. I looked around and saw a lady in her forties staring at me wide eyed. I tried getting up but groaned in pain.

"You don't wanna do that. Your body is exhausted from running for so long, having no food, and then the alpha got a pretty good bite out of you." The lady walked closer and introduced herself,

"I'm Carla and this is little Laurel." I looked up at her and took in her features she had dark brown eyes, blonde hair, and was on the small side.

I offered a small smile that barely felt real even to me, "I'm Jessica Loup. I was part of the Night Blade pack." Her eyes held relief and the small girl skilled and giggled.

"Your really pretty Jessica," her blue eyes shined with innocent sincerity. Sadness filled my body and tears started to roll down my cheeks as I remembered Liam and the rest of my pack.

They had abused me for most of my life and even my mom! The one person who was supposed to love me unconditionally! Suddenly two small hands wrapped themselves around my torso and despite the pain it brought I felt happy and loved.

I moved my arms to hug the small body that hugged me and realized Laurel was crying too. Her body shook with sobs and I pulled her away and tried to see what was wrong her crystalline eyes were surrounded by tear streaked checks.

"Laurel honey whats wrong? You don't need to cry." Laurels mouth opened to respond but Carl cut her off.

"Oh Jessica no need to worry Laurel has always been really sensible around crying people," I didn't believe her thought she threw a long meaningful stare at Laurel and Laurel looked away.

"Laur go play with Jen okay." The blonde little girl stared at me for a minute as if unsure what to do, but I nodded and she detangled herself from me and skipped away. Carl stared at me for a long moment and then finally something hit her,

"You haven't eaten yet! Oh goodness let me get you something to eat just wait for me here." Carla ran out the door without waiting for me to respond. As if I could go anywhere, I thought bitterly. That was the last thing I thought before everything went black.

"You're worthless! My new mate will be better than you ever would be." Liam's voice taunted me in my dreams. I felt tears fill my eyes and I could her my mother's laughter.

"You are a disgrace to your pack! How could anyone ever want you. You and your horrid face."

"I hate you did you ever actually think you were pretty!' Brittany's voice filled my dreams.

"I hate you!"

"You're ugly and worthless."

Voices started filling my head and suddenly my mind was clogged with the voices of everyone in my pack. All the insults the rejection and every pain I felt when I was beaten. I was afraid and in pain.

The pain another wolf would be in when they lost their mate. All of a sudden I started to hear familiar voices and all of my old packs voices started to leave.

"Laurel get off of that bed now! Laurel don't make me call your father. Laurel!"

"But Aunt Carla I wanna lie down with Jessica!" My ears were greeted with the whisper match between Carla and Laurel. I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling amused.

The dream of my past and all the recent events moving deep into my mind, almost vanishing completely, almost. I slowly sat up and looked at Laurel to my surprise her hair was a mess, mud hung to the tips of her hair and her hands were cover in that same dark brown substance. My once white sheets no long white had various streaks of brown and hand prints.

"Laurel what have you been up to?"

Her wide innocent eyes stared up at me with a slightly mischievous expression.

"Jen's brother Daniel stole Macy form me and I pushed him into the mud."

"Well you shouldn't be messing around with boys but good job Laurel don't ever let him see that you are scared or sad okay."

Laurel stared up at me in complete astonishment. A thought crossed my mind at that moment

"Laurel where are your parents?" "Oh daddy is alpha so he lets me stay with aunt Carla."

My body stiffened and I suddenly realized I was holding the Alpha's daughter on my lap and considering my new status as rouge, he was not going to be happy.

Laurel tapped my shoulder, " Jessica why are you here? Where are your mommy and daddy?"

I glanced down at the cute little girl and tried keeping calm but suddenly a voice spoke, " I was wondering the same thing."

I stiffened at the deep voice that held so much authority. I felt slightly alright until I heard Laurel scream, "Daddy!!" Then everything went black-again. My last thought was "I've really got to stop doing this."
