Well, this is pretty much an explanation for Marcus, though he would had rather not explain himself if he were an actual person but I am not him and this was how Marcus was.
He was the type of person who really cared but he had that kind of love and respect for people that let themselves decide their own fate and choose their opinions while being the mastermind who came up with most of the options. (He acted pretty much like the human version of God in the world)
Now what exactly did Marcus Think of himself? Do you wonder?
Marcus, was Renae's best friend. They grew up together ever since they were three.
Both knew each and every little thing or stories and secrets about the other. (I guess they could easily blackmail each other in many ways)
For Marcus, Renae was more like the troublemaker and creator of all destruction and disturbances in both of their lives.
Of course, he treasured her in this very special way.
As for Renae, Marcus was her living diary, her observer (talk about God again) and also her life support.
All the guys she dated, Marcus knew them all. Befriended a few of them but basically, he never really cared.
"That guy never really loved you anyway" was what he told each time she broke up with a guy.
Marcus was the only one and by only one, I really mean it with all seriousness that he was the only one who could ever climbed Renae's wall.
He could talked to her with ease while he also saw all the pretty and dark side she had to offer.
How could Marcus be the only one who could climbed the wall?
(Well, in the last chapter I told you that she had created not just a wall but walls, and here I mentioned only wall)
Well continuing on, Renae called him everyday, every night at about anytime and Marcus came running, climbed the wall with the least interested face, tired of what kind of shitty story she had to tell him again.
The wall I am talking about here is different like I said earlier- the wall.
Well, it was a must to have a wall between them or least between these two families.
It was a mark that they were neighbours, a partition that showed how much land each owned.
All the complaining she never did was done when she was with Marcus alone.
To be very clear, Renae was the girl who had the meanest personality to offer around people. She was her own person (well not around Marcus). The type who didn't really cared or be bothered after something happened, but for Marcus, she was the weakest.
She was the one person he knew of that cried the most. The whiny brat. He even questioned, "just how much can the human eye or eyes produce tears?" Renae was the whiny brat. The brat that always landed him in some amazingly legendary troubles and positions in life.
Getting himself into trouble for a girl she grew up with was never his dream but he did it all for the love of food.
Marcus knew it very well that when, her highness (Renae) called for him, he had to go to her that very instant. (For who knows, what might happen to him). Actually nothing dreadful really happened even if he missed her cry for hopeless help.
You see, sometimes when Renae called for Marcus, she had food. Yep, Renae was a sweetheart sometimes.
She would basically share everything she ate or baked. She knew how much Marcus loved food.
Other than being the human version of God, he was also the human version of a panda that ate for twelve hours a day.
So, each time Renae called out to him, he ran instantly with a hope that it was actually food she had rather than her unending stories, and trust me, seventy five percent of the times he went running ended up in pretty much of- disappointment (the poor guy had too much of hope in him every time he ran).
