Renae and Marcus were still friends but they didn't hang out together like they used to.
Marcus was busy gaming with his brothers and his other friends from he neighbourhood while, Renae would watch movies and just stay at home (basically just jobless like me).
However, wherever things were out of order for Renae, there was always Marcus (their friendship was something to crave for).
There were times when both of them would stop talking to each other, not because they had a quarrel or a misunderstanding but because they were now teenagers fighting against their own souls at times and the rest of the time, with the world (every teenager needs some space at a certain point of time, don't we?)
Grade Nine was a time of war for the two of them. That kind of war that kept coming back in different forms each time they thought the battle was over.
The fire never seemed to ceased out.
It kept burning and somehow that was how the ice on both of their hearts melted away.
For Renae, things had always been hard and people were a major cause for all of it.
The one thought that everyone had in mind about Renae was that she was brilliant at school in terms of both academics and co curricular activities.
Renae tried her best however in both aspects but there was just too much expectations (people should stop friggin expecting! Seriously is the phrase- expectations hurt, not clear?).
Indeed, expectations hurt but at times, the person from whom you are expecting gets a lot more damaged than you think.
That was Renae's life. Her story that no one understood, not even Marcus.
For Renae, the world she was fighting with was her family, her friends, the society and herself.
Marcus, on the other hand wasn't that good at academics but man he loved trying his best. The one thing he enjoyed the most was solving math problems though he wasn't a nerd (people like him really did exist huh?).
Renae and Marcus would go for math tuitions together and along with them, seven other boys accompanied.
Yeah nevertheless, Renae was the only girl in the group but the boys followed her every command(not that she bullied them or she was the queen, they rather cared for most of what she said and considered her a dear friend, while Renae considered them the same).
Their gang was to die for, everyone would want friends like them. Every time Renae was out of the class, there were eight boys who accompanied her and we know they had a party outside, each time the teacher said, "Get the hell out of my class!"
