"Hey little one!" Popped a text on Renae's phone.
"Oh hey, Paul! Long time." Replied Renae.
Paul- How is life treating you?
Renae- As better as it treats you everyday (:
Paul- Fair enough.
Renae- Anything up? You're texting me after ages!
Paul- No, come on! Can't I text my favorite little girl?
Renae - I am twenty one now, you can't call me little anymore.
Paul- Hmm, guess I'm an old man now huh?
Renae- Yeah, you are. How can you still type so well?
Paul- You little brat! Haha
Renae- Aren't you married yet?
Paul- Bombed huh? Maybe next year or the year after. My job's right at the moment.
Renae- Oh I see, but I'm glad you are going ahead in life. Invite me too alright?
Paul- duh? Obviously, you're going to be the ring bearer haha!
Renae- Not funny!
Paul- So how is Marcus doing? You still contact him don't you.
(After ten minutes)
Renae- No.
Paul- Huh? Why?
Renae- Well, I don't have his number to text with -.-.
Paul- You should have asked me here, +(1)-870*******
Renae- Who could have guessed you were still using this number? But, thank you.
Paul- Not a problem. Okay G2G, TTYL.
Kisses!
Renae- Yeah. ByeAfter Renae got a hold of Marcus' number, she sent him a text a day later and he replied three days after.
( O. M. G!)Their conversation was pretty much what we call, normal. Renae told Marcus that she'd visit him five days after to which he agreed happily.
They were excited. Of course, it had been five years since they last saw each other.
You see, that day wasn't such a happy memorable day.
Renae drove for twelve hours just to see Marcus and the gang but all she could meet was the old lady from across the street and Marcus' father.
When she called up Marcus on the phone, he didn't pick up. He didn't pick up the phone even on her third call.
Renae was sad. So sad I can't even describe it in words. I can even feel the sadness she felt because on that day she expected to meet her long lost best friend. She was excited and couldn't wait to see both of their reactions but everything was torn apart.
Just where on Earth was Marcus?
