Come Late September

(A song to remember)

There is a time in the night in the middle of fall

heed my warning now, or may God be with you all.

Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins roam the streets,

Scouting for revenge, or dainty little treats.

They'll come and devour whomever they can,

Sprouting from the dirt, or bursting from the sand.

Makes no difference if you're humble or contrite,

These monster will destroy every single thing in sight.

Wish to save yourself? Do exactly as I say.

Perhaps you'll beat the odds for at least another day.

Go deep into the forest to begin a spirit fire,

A haunting blaze of glory is what you hope to inspire.

Dance around the flames, and shout out to the sky.

"If you try to come for me, then surely you shall die!"

"This inferno is enchanted by the sound of my voice,

I will not leave its side not by force or by choice."

Keep the fire burning, and stay close to the light,

Ignore the violent howls from the beast of the night.

Stay until the morning and your night may go well,

And pray those evil bastards went crawling back to hell!
