Wren sat bolt upight in her seat when Nico di Angelo, her adopted father, swerved onto the highway. The wheels screeched, and both Will and herself were thrown forward.

Nico cursed at the top of his lungs. He didn't appreciate driving and Will didn't have his license so... you can guess what happens next.

"Can @#!? learn to drive?" Nico shrieked, as a car swerved in front of thier Toyota. Nico swore again.

Wren glanced out of the rainsteaked window. Cars zipped past them, glowing in the distance.

"Nico," Will said, his voice struggling to stay calm. "Just get us to Camp Half Blood safely. The strawberry field isn't far from here." Will put a hand on Nico's leg. He swerved.

"Shit, Will! You distracted me!" Nico shouted, his hands gripped furiously to the wheel.

"Dad, look! I can see the strawberry field!" Wren pointed encouragingly out the window. Please don't kill us, she added silently to herself.

They pulled up next to the forest, it was only a small trek through the woods to the barrier. Wren zipped up her raincoat, threw the hood over her head and exited the car. Thank gods that was over.

Even in the darkness Wren could almost see the steam coming out of Nico's ears.

"There's a path right up there," Will gestured to the forest.

Nico grumbled about his parking, reluctantly following his daughter and husband into the forest.

They walked for a few minutes in silence. Soon, the glowing blue dome came into the view. They reached the edge, and Will turned to Wren. "Well, ready to see your real dad again?" His words were not critical, but Wren winced anyway.

"Daaad," Wren groaned, wrapping her arms around Will Solace.

"Now, you listen to Chiron." Nico added warningly.

"And no boys." Will looked down at her.

"Or girls," Nico added factually.

"DAD!" Wren complained, not sure who she was adressing. "Er... I mean dads."

"Oh, and," Will stated. "If you go on a life changing, world saving quest, call us, kay?" He said this completely casually.

Yeah, Wren thought. End of the world, just give em a call. No big deal.

She kissed them them goodbye for the winter, and she swore she saw a tear in Will's eye.

As soon as Wren stepped through the barrier, she was welcomed by a loud crash, a bang like a gunshot, and cursing.

Brilliant. This again.

Over the summer, Wren had tried to be a normal teenager. She had made normal, teenage friends. Dyed her hair with a streak of purple. Gone to parties. She even dated a guy for a wekk, but now, it was back to... Well, as normal as it gets for a demigod.

She sprinted in the direction of the Big House as another bang rang in her ears.

Back to saving the world, again, and again, and again.

Wren ran down Half Blood Hill towards the Big House, her feet wet from the damp ground. Another gunshot pierced her ears as she approached the building. The unmistakable voice of Chiron let out a shout.

Wren sprinted up the deck steps two at a time, desperate to know what was causing the comotion. She slammed open the door, practically taking it off its hinges.
