Cold, flowing water rushed over her head, pushing her deeper into the depths of the ocean. Neve screamed for help, but all that appeared were bubbles. Water poured into her mouth, filling up her lungs and strangling her. Neve writhed, seaweed tickling at her legs. The water in her lungs made it feel as if she'd been poisoned.
Neve sat bolt upright, awakening from her dream. As she sat up, she smacked into something, right in front of her face.
"Ugh, Kai you idiot-" She growled, automatically assuming it was the son of Hecate trying to wake her up again.
"That's not me," a drowsy, beaten voice mumbled. She looked up, seeing that it was in fact not Kai, who was leaning against the couch. It was, surprisingly, the biggest cat she had ever seen.
The gray fur ball, who was probably bigger than her head, hissed at her and ran off, only to curl up on West's lap.
A slow descending feeling came over Neve as she remembered why they weren't on the ship. She shivered, slowing moving her gaze to her hands. Despite washing most of the blood off, under her fingernails she could still see traces of red.
"Is Wren okay?" She turned her head away from her hands, barely able to look at them anymore.
Marco met her eyes. He nodded, but that was a lie. His eyes were telling the truth, and the truth was grim.
"Where is she?" After she had said it, she realized that it came out more demanding than she had wanted.
"With Nico and Will." Marco mumbled. The expression on his face gave Neve the feeling that he had just come back from a war. Maybe he was at war, but with himself. "But they won't let us go into the room." He looked away.
Neve leaned backwards, letting out a sigh. Sighs were said to relieve stress, but they weren't working.
Kai wasn't talking at all, which was surprising, considering it was... Well you know, Kai. It seemed that everyone shared Marco's beaten look, even Kai.
Marco got up from his seat, surprising Neve with sudden movement.
"I'm going to check on Wren." He muttered, noticing her surprise. She nodded.
"Can I come?" Neve asked.
Marco hesitated, taking a breath. "I don't know..." He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. "Will and Nico don't really know you yet... I'm not sure if..."
Oh I'm sorry, Neve thought, agitated. I didn't know you were the one who swam in her effing blood to pull her to safety.Marco left the room, leaving Neve behind. Most of the demigods, West, Brooklyn and Tasha were asleep. Neve could see why, worry was exhausting. And even when Joel and Kai were awake, they didn't look like they were in the mood for talking.
Neve nudged Kai with her foot.
"What happened when I passed out?"
"How am I supposed to know?" Kai grumbled, shifting his position. "We both fell asleep at the same time."
"Oh." Neve looked at her lap. They must've breathed in too much smoke. Kai closed his eyes and leaned his head back on the couch, exhaling.
Neve crossed her arms. That way, she felt like she was being given a hug. The couch was soft. Neve wished she could sink into it.
Joel muttered something about transportation, but Neve didn't hear much of it. She did hear Kai's response.
"I have a van." He replied, looking at Joel. "But that's not the problem right now."
A van? Neve thought.
Eventually, Marco came back into the room. Somehow, now that he had seen Wren, he looked even more drained.
"How is she?" Kai asked, looking up as soon as Marco came in. When Marco didn't reply, his face fell.
The boy sat next to Kai, his eyes resembling someone lifeless. Kai pulled himself off the floor to sit in between Neve and his best friend. Marco's head hung.
Kai and Neve both looked at him, but they didn't speak a word. Neve feared the worst, but Marco would be much more upset.
A/N So how long has it been since the last update? A week maybe. But nobody cares... *sobs*
Anyway it's Max and Via's happy because I somehow changed the font, which I didn't even know was possible... so I may have just wrecked her computer, so I'm panicking. Also Via's nerdy and she is flipping obsessed with fonts... and she has a squid on her head?

A/N Well I have a squid hat on my head. This episode on 'Top Saddest Lives'. While Max was writing this, I was rambling while slowly digging my self into a deeper hole of shame. Now she's putting on a song that makes me want to go beserk with rapping. So welcome to the daily life of Via...
