Wren watched as Marco and the others left, leaving her and Chelsea alone. She awkwardly glanced at Chelsea, still not fully trusting the daughter of Nike.

"So, where are you from?" Wren asked, trying to make small talk.

"Minnesota," the girl replied. "You?"

"My dads and I live just a few blocks from here." Wren smiled, realizing she might be able to go see them.

"Your dads?" Chelsea repeated, sounding shocked.

Wren felt anger rise inside of her, her fists clenched and she pursed her lips. "Yeah, my dads. They're gay and I'm adopted, got a problem with that?"

"I'm sorry. I was just surprised that you have two parents. Well, three if you count Dionysus." Chelsea smiled awkwardly.

"I don't, not really," Wren admitted, smiling sadly and shaking her head.

"Well, I've got to go grab something," Chelsea said abruptly.

"Okay." Wren lay down on the dock and put her hands behind her head, wondering what Chelsea was getting. She looked up when she heard footsteps a couple minutes later.

"Hey, Chelsea." Wren sat up, her eyes widening as she saw what Chelsea was holding. "Is that Greek fire?"

"You'd do anything for your dads, right?" Chelsea asked. It didn't sound like she wanted an answer. "Well, I'd do anything for my mom."

Wren shot to her feet, moving in between Chelsea and the ship. "Chelsea, please don't do this."

Chelsea sighed. "Wren, move. I don't want to hurt you."

Wren shook her head, glaring at the daughter of Nike.

"Wren, think about the others. Think about your dads. You'll be no use to them dead." Chelsea raised her hand. "Step aside, Wren."

"No, I'm not letting you do this," Wren whispered, just loud enough for Chelsea to here.

"Wren, you can't stop me." Chelsea sounded quite calm as she threw the jar of Greek fire over Wren's head.

The sky lit up and the dock shook as the ship exploded along with part of the dock. Wren felt a jet of pain rush through her body and heard a scream before realizing it was coming from herself. The water feeling icy was the last thing she remembered before everything went black.

A/N WAT JUST HAPPENED? Maxine here, being weird, like always!

Anyway, I wrote this and am very sorry about how short it is... but at least this isn't an actual Rick Riordan book. If it was this would probably be a lot later in the book and then BAM! you'd have to wait another year for the next book. Also he'd totally make you trust Chelsea.
