Chapter 18
Seth, definitely packed a punch. I held onto my nose, trying to see more clearly what was in front of me. He grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled me out into the dreary cloudy day.
“What the fuck man–” I spat, punched once more, and thrown to the side. I swayed backward until my back crashed against the ledge of the long porch that wrapped around the house. Before the next blow, I put my army up to cover my face. He struck my arm, and blindly I tried to struck him but only fell forward, spinning to land on my ass.
“You son of a bitch, you know what I’m talking about.”
“Actually. No. Would you like to make it clear on why the fuck you are attacking me!?” My voice grew with every word.
“You killed her!” Seth’s voice broke, his face filled with sorrow.
“I didn’t kill her. Lexis’ isn’t dead. Who the fuck told you I killed her!?”
“She was running away from you-who else could it be? Huh? Tell me that?”
I got up to my feet and stared at him for a moment. A smirk made up my lips with a short scoff before I made the sudden punch at his nose. His head shifted to the left side, he wiped off his now bleeding lip. Our eyes met once more, both bodies still, waiting for who would strike again.
“Call me anything you like but don’t you ever fucking point your finger at me for murdering Lexis.” My body was tensed up more than ever. “And like I said because you might have not heard… She. Isn’t. Dead.”
Seth swallowed hard and shifted in his position, shoulders slumping and expression softening, “If your joking I swear to god-“
“-I’ll throw myself off a cliff. Where did you hear that she was dead?”
“My parents.”
“And how do your parents know?”
Seth shrugged, eyes averted. Oh. He knew. He knew exactly how his parents knew and he was keeping his mouth shut about it.
“How do they know?” I repeated.
“My parent’s didn’t tell me, Daphne did,” He said. And why would he cover for Daphne?
I stared back at him, without saying a single world. Maybe his family was more involved than my mother originally thought. Hell, they could have been behind all that ‘murder’ Lexis operation. Seth knew something.
“I’ll let you know when I find her.” I said.
“SO what? You can kill her? You nearly killed your ex-girlfriend. How am I supposed to believe that you won’t do that to Lexis?” He asked. There were so many reasons why I was doing that in the first place to Natalie. Was it selfish? No. Immorally wrong? Yes but I’m starting to lose care of being moral.
“She’s with some guy…an assassin, Noah,” I cleared. He’d probably remember who Noah was. I wasn’t sure if he knew that he was an assassin. Seth turned his back on me and stared to head for the exit of my home.
