Chapter 4

The fear almost devoured me. Something that haunted him was now haunting me. Although the fear ran down my veins, it didn’t stop me from letting my anger out. I’ve always over won fear with my anger. It was easier to be angry then it was to be scared or sad. I took a confident walk toward her, only making out her side profile from watching her through the corner of my eyes. She had full lips and a long nose with a nice golden tan. With the designer top and demin short and a pair of black high-tops she struck me as she was living pretty well. Everything about her matched the security footage Javier had given to me as proof.

Demon was just ending his laugh with blue eyes looking so lively. I glanced between to the two and felt my heart throb and the anger closing in my stomach until I could no longer breath. She was smirking, peaking over her eyelashes at him. There was their connection. He found out and it was all over.

“Hey Psycho,” He suddenly turns his head to me. That’s it, it’s over. Completely over... He isn’t even going to talk to me anymore. I bit the bottom of my lip and felt tears threaten my eyes. If he were to kiss her or do anything with her, it would hurt like it never hurt before.

“This is Wendy,” He introduced pointing at her. The color drained from my expression and a lot of the tension dropped. He didn’t know it was Natalie!? I doubly blinked and decided to shut my lips tight. I glanced at Natalie again. She definitely looked like her. I didn’t hear anything about her having a twin. Natalie half turned toward me with suspicious hazel eyes glimmering gold when the sunlight touched them.

“Before you accuse me of playing her. I’m not,” Demon said with popped sincere eyes. As if...! I knew better to believe his stupid lies. I’ve heard that line too many times. This time, he couldn’t. I won’t let him, not with her. If he discovers who she is or even if he doesn’t and he grows to like her-

“–She looks a lot like my dead ex. It’s like looking at a ghost,” Demon’s lips cracked as he let out a laugh in excitement. He didn’t know half of it. My lungs started to burn and I begun to notice I was holding my breath again. I breathed out and breathed in again. I aimed my glare at Natalie but she wasn’t looking.

“Is that the kind of thing you say to a girl you just asked out?” Natalie arched an eyebrow. He asked her out!? Okay, this is war. You are going down bitch! Hate to be the typical ex-girlfriend but this is so not happening! You deceived him that you were dead and he almost destroyed himself because of you! She can’t just walk into his life like nothing happened. Are you fucking kidding me? Over my fucking dead body! If I have to personally get rid of her, I will. I swear to god I will dump her in acid!

“You asked me out,” Demon dully fixed and then cracked a smirk “ Besides, if you date me, Psycho will dump you in acid.” That was oddly accurate. Natalie glanced at me and scoffed “Psycho? You’re name is Psycho?”

“No,” I sighed and send Demon a quick nasty look that he managed to dodge “My name is Lexis. He calls me Psycho and I call him demon. Na-Wendy, you should stay away from Demon, he’s not worth it.” Wow, that was awfully kind of me not to swear-or drag her in front of the car and run her over a couple of times. People who should be dead should stay dead.

“Oh, I don’t care if he isn’t,” She snickered, narrowing her eyes and putting on a secretive smile “Don’t worry. I promise I won’t have my heart broken if that’s what you’re worried about. Besides, I thought you weren’t dating anymore?”

“Just because she broke up with me doesn’t mean it’s over. I physically cheated too many times,” Demon shrugged. OH MY GOD! Did he just say I broke up with him!? He admitted that I broke up with him! I should mark this day on the calendar.
