Chapter 15
Fingers curled around the glass of water, almost touching my lips before the door bell rang. Losing sight of what was placed in my hand; I sped forward to the door with splashes of water spilling out of the cup on the dark hardwood floor. My eyes beamed at my best friends when I opened the door.
"Everyone's coming today? For real!?" I cheered.
"Yup." Sam nodded, holding onto her brothers hand tightly, just as their parents told them to. I swung a look over my shoulder and saw my mother coming down to the door, slipping when her foot touched a wet spot. The three of us gasped and I looked over at my now empty glass and the floor.
"Opps..." I frowned. My mother sat herself up and had her eyes narrowing at me.
"Rosie," She narrowed her eyes.
"I'm sorry!" I exclaimed, "Can I go with Sam, and Seth. Noah will be there. And Nat, Julie and Damon."
"As long as you're close," She sighed, rising to her feet and taking the glass from my hands, "Just...wait a moment." She pulled her hair tie out of her hair and put my own hair up in a pony tail. I took a look at the mirror by the door and frowned, "It's messy."
"It's the best I can do," She admitted.
"I think it looks great!" Seth shouted out.
"See. He likes it." My mother stuck out her tongue.
"It looks awful," My father called out from the living room. My mother rolled her hazel eyes and called out "You didn't even see the pony tail!"
"I don't have to." He shortly laughed.
"It's okay. Nat is really good at ponytails," I smiled at her and then ran off with Seth and Sam, past the non-busy street, moving down the sidewalk and kept walking straight until we reached the park. Julie was on the swings and Noah was pushing her from behind. He was the oldest-eleven year’s old, dark brown hair and silver eyed. The park itself was filled with other children and parents. We were just allowed to go on our own because-well I didn't know why I just knew it was great that we could.
"Hi!" I shouted out.
"Hi cutie face," Noah replied with a small hint of a smile. I didn't know how to react-so I frowned; keeping my mouth shut and saw Julie waving. She didn't like to talk much. In a couple of seconds Damon and Natalie came from behind. Damon and Natalie always stayed with each other. I barely ever got to play with Damon and when we did Natalie always interrupted.
"Should we go?" Natalie raised a brow, her hands at her hips, soon her eyes saw my hair, "Your mom did you hair again?"
"Yup." I sighed.
"I'll fix it," She assured, "But let's go first, okay?"
"I don't know if that's a good idea," Noah frowned, still continuing to push Julie on the swing.
"We'll be fine," Damon promised, "I can protect the girls."
