IVORY'S POV
I was sitting on my bed wishing that my life would be better than it is now when my alarm clock went off. I hurried and turned it off before I woke up my parents. I have long red hair with a strip of blonde that has always been there. It is as straight as a board and reaches all the way down to my waist. I have dark blue eyes like the ocean, and I am 5'4.
I got up and ran into the bathroom to take a quick shower. When I got out I put on a black long sleeve shirt with blue skinny jeans. I put on a flower cloth necklace that brought out my eyes. The only makeup I put on was mascara and foundation to cover up the bruises from last night. I ran downstairs and grabbed an apple before running out the door to go to school.
I got to school right as the bell rang. When I walked into class Zoey, the school bully and head cheerleader, gave me a glare. I knew that glare, it was the glare that said, 'I will get you when you least expect it'. I sighed as I sat down in my first period. She has been bullying me for years. I think she looks forward to it every day.
Lunch finally came around. My best friend, Hailee, came up to me and threw herself on me into a big hug. Hailee has shoulder length black hair with dark chocolate brown eyes. She is the same height as me.
"Hey, what do you want for lunch?" Hailee said with too much excitement.
"Whatever you want, I'm not hungry."
"Oh my gosh, did your parents beat you again?" She asked while tenderly touching my bruises on my face.
"Yah." I answered defeated.
"One of these days I am going to kill your parents. You count on that." Hailee mumbled as we got in the lunch line. She has always been super protective of me. "Hey there's Mason!" She pointed at the doors.
Mason was the guy that I have had a crush on since he moved here. I knew that I would never be able to go out with him though. I was the girl who was invisible and he was the most popular guy in the school. He was the captain of the football team, in a ton of clubs and one of the nicest people I have ever met. Unfortunately, he also has a girlfriend and she was the head cheerleader. Yup, that means it's Zoey. How someone so sweet can date someone so cruel I'll never know. I don't think he even knows I exist. Sometimes I feel like waving my hands around yelling 'I am right here.'
"You should go talk to him. I know he will like you. He just has to have the chance to get to know you." Hailee gave me a slight push in his direction.
"It's not even worth trying Hailee. Even if he did know I existed he has a girlfriend and he would never want to spend time with a nobody like me. It would spoil his reputation."
"Reputation? Ha, who cares about that. Plus, he doesn't like his girlfriend so don't even worry about her." Hailee said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"And you know that how?" I questioned.
"Just do." She smiled and started walking in the direction of our table.
I got out of the lunch line and started walking to the table that we usually sit at. I was thinking about what it would be like to talk to Mason and wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Because of daydreaming I ran right into someone. My food went flying into the air and I started to fall on my butt. Before I could get even half way down a strong arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me to a strong chest. When I looked up, my eyes met with Mason's dark brown eyes that you could drown in. I couldn't help but love how good I felt in his arms.
"Hi." I whispered. I can't believe I'm talking to him let alone touching him!
"Hello, you might want to watch where you're going." He replied as he helped me stand back up but didn't let me go.
