IVORY'S POV

"Why did you lie to me Hailee?" I asked in between sobs.

"I didn't lie to you. You never actually asked if I was human or not." Hailee tried to reason.

"I didn't know that was a question that you needed to ask someone you meet." I gave her a glare as Carter handed me a cookie. "And that may be true but we told each other all of our secrets. But apparently you left a very big one out." I bit back. "Is that how you knew that Mason would like me if I talked to him and got to know him? Because you knew I was his mate?"

"........ yes." Hailee hesitantly said.

"Great. That's just great. Why?" I put some space between us and crossed my arms.

"I was sworn into secrecy. If I told you I am a werewolf, I wouldn't just be telling you my secret, I would be telling you my whole packs secret. Actually, scratch that, not only my pack but any werewolf out there. Rouge or not. You see? It wasn't my secret to tell. Please don't stay mad at me." Hailee hugged me even tighter.

"I understand why now. It wasn't your secret, it makes sense. Hey Hail?" I blew my nose.

"Yes?"

"What's a rouge?"

"A werewolf that either chooses to leave their pack or is kicked out to be left alone and doesn't join another pack." Hailee calmly explained while I at my cookie.

"Uh-oh." I said as a feeling of dread and regret washed over me.

"What?" Hailee asked confused.

"I think Zoey is a rouge now and it's all my fault." I said as a new wave of tears flowed from my eyes. I buried my head back into Hailee's shoulder.

"Slut bag cheerleader Zoey?" Hailee bluntly said. I heard Carter snort as he tried not to laugh. I started to laugh as I nodded my head yes. "Now why would you think that?"

"Remember she attacked me, more than once? And there's also the fact of Mason telling her to leave and never come back and if she was still here in two days he would kill her." I focused on my intertwined hands.

"Ya, that'll do it. She's a rouge now if that's what Mason said." Hailee just brushed it off like it was nothing.

"That's what happened I was there holding back Zoey so she didn't try to hurt Ivory again." Carter cut in.

"How can you act like this is nothing, like it happens all the time?" I asked guiltily.

"Because Mason has threatened her before. She messed with you all the time, remember?"

"How could I forget?" I scoffed.

~FLASHBACK~

"Hello Peewee." Zoey said as her and her little followers walked up to me. I just ignored her.

"I was talking to you brat." She grabbed my ponytail and pulled my hair so I was looking right at her.

"Ow, let go of me." I yelled.

"Not until I'm finished with you. Girls do your thing." She stepped away but didn't let go of my hair. The next thing I know I was hit in the face by some kind of watery goop.

They all busted out laughing as I wiped it away from my face so none of it would go into my eyes, mouth or nose.

"Now that was full of dog food, relish, the mystery meat sloppy joe from the cafeteria, some water, and some paste to make it really sticky. But you should thank us instead of being mad at us. I think this is best you have ever smelt or looked. Have a nice day. I look forward to more of our little chats, they're so much fun." Zoey laughed and her little wannabes followed her lead.

"Hey Iv... Oh my gosh!" Hailee walked in as Zoey stepped back. "Zoey, you better run as fast as you can before I can get a hold of you. You know if I do you will lose. And I will tell you know who."

"N-n-n-n-o-o please don't." Zoey started to beg.

"OUT NOW!" Hailee screamed as she pointed towards the doors and looked straight into Zoey's eyes. Zoey and her entourage booked it out of there with fear evident in their eyes.

"Damn Hailee you can be extremely scary." I kept trying to get the weird goop off but since it was so sticky it wasn't really working.

"Ugh she pisses me off so bad." She sighed, "Come on let's go get you cleaned up."

~END OF FLASHBACK~

So, the you know who you said sometimes to threaten Zoey was Mason?"

"Yep, that's why she didn't do it again for a long time after every time I caught her. That's why I'm not shocked she was kicked out of the pack. Mason was protecting you before you even made eye contact with him." That made a blush cover my face.

"Why did he never talk to me if he knew I was his mate? He told me it looked like I didn't want to be bothered but that was before I knew he was a werewolf. Plus, Jamie said you can't resist the mate pull. The higher up your rank, the stronger the pull is." I looked at Hailee and Carter.

"I can't answer that. You'll have to ask him that question yourself." Hailee finally replied.

There was a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I yelled.

"It's Mason. Can I come in?"

"I guess." I said halfheartedly but I couldn't help but stare at Mason as he came in. His pitch-black hair was tussled and messy. His brown eyes were wild and lost. He was wearing a tight blue tee-shirt showing off his muscles perfectly. There was just a little bit of sweat rolling down his forehead. Damn he's hot.

"Hey sweetie, how are you feeling?" He asked concerned while taking a couple steps towards me.

"Ok, I guess. It is what it is. I'll deal with it. I just hope nothing else goes wrong for at least a couple of days or I might just lose my mind." I let out a nervous chuckle.

"I'm sorry for all that's been going on and that I suck at protecting you. I promise to do better from here on out." Mason hung his head in shame.

"It is what it is and you're doing a great job at protecting me. If I wasn't pigheaded and stubborn, none of those bad things would've happened." I said wiping away the tears that had streamed down my cheek just moments ago. "Plus, look on the bright side. Every time I was in trouble, you were there to save me. You're my hero, actually scratch that, you're my Prince Charming."

"I'm going to make it up to you, I promise." Mason said determined.

"You don't have too."

"But I want to. Follow me." Mason took a blindfold out of his back pocket and tied it around my eyes. "Don't peek."

"Aww why not?" I teased.

"Just don't look, ok?"

"Ok." I chuckled. "Just don't let me run into any walls, I do that enough by myself already. I don't need any help in that department." He led me down the hallway and I almost fell down the stairs because he never told me they were there. Luckily, he caught me.

"See you're good at protecting me. You just saved me from falling down the stairs." I smiled.

"That's because I'm right behind you and I caused that one." He groaned.

"Well when you say it like that of course it's going to sound bad." Mason just let out a light chuckle.

"You ready to see it?"

"Yes" I said excitedly as he removed the blindfold.

I could not believe what I saw. What the hell?
