Back at camp
Kayla and Tessa were bored. Actually they weren't bored.
They were bored... to death.
They hung out with some girls, but all they did was talk about Bellamy, who they could definitely say was attractive, but he seemed like a power hungry jackass. And they both had boys they were already interested in so they weren't really that into him.
They were currently watching as he told some bull shit speech about liberating yourselves and what not. To be honest they didn't care what everyone else did. They wanted dad to know they were alive and some idiot with a power trip wasn't gonna change their minds. Yes the Ark had messed up rules, but those were the rules up there, and when they came down, they would probably transfer some rules.
It was how they thought up there and they would apply a lot of the rules, but they wouldn't kill. These people just thought that the Ark were savages because everything was punishable by death. But that was never the case. Their dad had told them a long time ago why the rules were the way they were. The Ark couldn't afford to waste oxygen. It couldn't afford to waste medical supplies. It couldn't afford a lot of things. Thats why the one child rule, even if these things weren't in anyone's control, it still was law. It wasn't anyone's fault if you got sick and you needed the extra supplies, nobody could fault you, just like they couldn't fault the person responsible for stealing them.
But they were put in place because without them, they wouldn't have made it almost 100 years on the Ark. Hell the population probably would have been dead not even 10 years in.
They might have thought all the rules were unfair, but it was still logical. And logic beats out emotions.
Every-time.
You could argue different, but it was true. Logic pushed the world further. Emotions couldn't be trusted to rule people. If we thought with emotions rather than logic, we would all be dead.
If you're wondering where this is going, the only person currently using logic is Wells Jaha, trying to convince emotionally driven Bellamy that taking off the wristbands was not logical. And it wasn't logical. There were a few farmers in there, but that could only get them so far. They could hunt with proper training, if there were animals out here. There were no engineers except Monty and he was only an apprentice. There were no mechanics. They had a tyrannical leader who only cared about his safety and his sister. Not the best leadership qualities.
There was shouting and then there was rain. And as the twins looked up into the sky, they thought about how their big sister was doing and if she was okay.
But they were pretty positive if anyone would come back, it would be her.

In The Woods
To say my arm hurt would be putting it lightly.
It hurt like hell.
It was tied up and all, but I could still feel the teeth biting into my skin, almost breaking bones. Thankfully the teeth didn't go as deep as I originally thought, but that didn't take away from the pain.
We were currently standing at the same spot as yesterday, attempting to cross. Except this time, we had a vine to swing across. No more getting eaten by snakes three times my size.
Finn was currently first to go, you know, whenever he felt like actually swinging!
"Oh my god Spacewalker, it's a swing to the other side, it's not a 50,000 foot drop down a cliff. Just go already!" I yelled impatiently at the boy who was clearly scared for his life.
"Aye aye captain. See you on the other side" he says, about to finally swing when Jasper stops him.
"Wait. Let me do it" he takes the vine from him.
"Unleashing the inner badass there Jordan" I said smirking as we all know the real reason he's going first before Finn.
"Of course. I need stories to tell when I get back" he said, as he swings to the other side, all of us cheering him on. He lands safely on the other side cheering right along with us.
The kid is definitely something special.
The vine comes back over and I grab it before anyone else. I love a good adrenaline rush, haven't had one in a while.
Jasper searches though the ground before holding up a sign saying we were finally at Mount Weather and we cheered some more. We were finally close to food and I could not wait.
Dot judge me! I'm hungry!
It was at this moment that I heard the sounds before I saw the mayhem.
I heard the trees rustle, making me immediately turn my head. Leaves from a few of the trees were moving, something was in them, hiding in them.
Before I had time to process what was happening, a spear launched itself from one of the trees and traveled right to where Jasper was.
And it struck him right in the chest.
We all gasped and yelled out in horror at the sight of Jasper laying motionless in the ground.
Finn shouted at us, "Get down, get down" as we crouched low behind a few boulders.
We were quiet for a few seconds before Clarke spoke the words I was thinking. The words I had been dreading ever since I had my meeting with the council. The words that had changed everything for me.
"We're not alone".
It was at this moment that I knew what was happening. I had read all the history books. I knew what this was. We were foreigners on land that wasn't ours anymore. We had just started a war by stepping foot on earth. And that spear to Jasper's chest was a message.
Get out, or be slaughtered.
And then we took off running.
