Oh how I dislike Unity Day.
Now I don't oppose the idea of Unity Day, but the whole idea behind it is really stupid. We remember the 13th station and how it's a huge part of the idea of unity. We must all be in perfect sync, no one must defect, but the story of the 13th station is clearly lost in translation.
One day I'd like to know what really happened with the 13th station.
But for now, I have to listen to Jaha speak about Unity Day.
Again.
Only this year I have the option of completely skipping it, which I'm currently taking advantage of as I sit on top of the drop ship.
"Whooo yeah! Monty strikes again!" Jasper excitedly yells as he leaves his and Monty's tent.
"We call this batch Unity Juice. Who wants it?!" He asks the crowd, as they all leave the monitor and crowd around Jasper.
I laugh at the boy and his attitude. He sure knows how to turn everyday into a party, that's for sure.
I happen to look around to see Octavia leaving the camp. Figure she's off to go see her grounder boyfriend. She needs to be careful though. If I saw her, at least one other person did. Let's just hope it isn't Bellamy.
Speaking of oh fearless leader, I haven't seen him yet.
"Hey Oro!?" I hear a voice call to me. I look down to see Finn looking up at me.
"What's up?" I call back.
"I know you saw her leave. Wanna find out what she's doing" he asked me, but I shake my head.
"You go. I already know what she's doing" I say, then lean back and look up to the sky. He doesn't respond, so I assume he left.
I really want to see chill out today and not have any worries, but the grounders scouting out our camp has significantly lessened, and I don't like it at all.
But I deserve a day to fucking relax, we've been training nonstop for 5 days since we got the guns. My arm still hurts but it's healing nicely since I couldn't move it excessively. Me and Bellamy have been getting along better. He really isn't that bad of a guy, especially after we had that kind of heart to heart. I see things in his perspective more clearly, but I do still have my own morals and ideals and we sometimes clash with that. The one thing we wholeheartedly agree on is when you shoot at a grounder, you shoot to kill. When you fight a grounder, in battle, you fight to kill. There is no in between.
Sighing to myself, I decide to join the festivities. It's not like time is moving any faster looking at the sky.
I climb back down the drop ship and enter the clearing to see my already tipsy sisters.
"How many have you two had already?" I question them, eyebrow raised.
"We maybe had three.... each" Tessa said.
"No idiot, this is my third one. Light weight over here is still on her first" Kayla pointed out.
"Don't make fun of Tessa because her tolerance is low" I joke at her, making Tessa gasp.
"I am not a lightweight" she slurs, taking another big gulp and plopping the cup down. Not even a second passes before she burps. "Okay, maybe I'm a little less tolerant".
"It's okay baby girl, mom was a lightweight too and we all know who you take after" I say patting her shoulder.
"Mom would always get hammered on Unity Day. Dad would carry her back and mom would swear up and down that dad looked like some actor off of an action movie she liked" Kayla laughs to herself, eyes distant.
