Carlisle's P.O.V.

I had no idea what I had done to deserve an eternity of loneliness. Sure, I had my sister and children, but it just wasn't the same. I saw the love they shared with their mates and wanted that kind of love. I wanted to find my One. I knew she was out there. But how long could it take?

My whole family were sort of panicking at this moment in time. Royce King, Elizabeth's ex-fiance, has sworn revenge on her. I don't really want to fight but it seems he has created a newborn army to eliminate my whole family. When it comes to my family's safety, you better watch out. I am ruthless when people are trying to intentionally harm my family.

I heard Elizabeth's mother explaining to Esme and Edward how and when it was going down. I could hear her voice. Over the phone it sounded like an angel. I was in the middle of listening to the conversation when I heard a knock at the door.

I opened it and there stood two vampires. A male and a female. The female introduced herself. 'Hello, Carlisle. My name is Alice and this is my mate, Jasper. We don't wish to feed on humans any longer and we know that you feed on animals. We would be grateful if you could teach us?' Jasper just stood there unsure of what to do or say.

' I would be glad to welcome you to our family.' I replied. 'Unfortunately you have arrived at a bad time for us.' I explained.

The Jasper spoke, with a southern, maybe Texan, accent. 'How so, if I may ask?'

I explained the situation as best I could.

'It just so happens that I can help. When I was changed, I was put in charge of newborn armies. Training them for the battles in the south. I have lived that way for about a century. Then I found Alice. The army thinks we died in battle. I know the way they fight. Their weaknesses. How they are to be defeated.' Jasper explained. I didn't like the fact that he had been put through that lifestyle, and I hated that he had to continue that for a couple of days here. But I had to do what I could to keep my family safe. Jasper just oozed confidence when he spoke of his past.

Just then, Esme, Edward, Emmett and Elizabeth came out of the other room. The males crouched to protect their mates. I told them to stand down and I explained with the help of Jasper what the situation was. 'Edward, he has experiance in this particular area of the vampiric life. They no longer wish to consume human blood. They cannot do this on their own. I am happy to welcome them both to the family, we can help them and they will help us.' I persuaded. Edward's eyes glazed over and he didn't reply for a couple of minutes.

'Alice, what do you see?' Jasper asked.

'I see a field, and they are there. The army you're talking about. There are 20 that will arrive at the field. We have three days to tell them what they need to know.' Alice replied. She could see the confused looks all the other vampires had on their faces. 'Me and Jasper are gifted. I can see the future but it is subjective. I only see the course they are currently on. Their decision can change everything. Jasper is an empath. He can feel your emotions and also control them.' Alice kindly explained to us.

'Well, wonly have one other gifted vampire in this family. Edward can read minds, but only what you are thinking at that moment. He saw the same vision you did.' I expained to the couple.

'I think we should start training as soon as possible. The newborns are volatile, much like children. They are exceptionally strong for the first year. Alot of them are destroyed when they reach the year mark.' Jasper explained. We knew we would need training for this. We couldn't do this without his help.

'Elizabeth, when is your mother arriving?' I asked.

'Tomorrow, she is catching the 6am flight.' Elizabeth replied.
