When Love and Eternity Collide (A Carlisle Cullen and Twilight Fan Fiction)

Chapter 24

Sam's P.O.V.

I was so happy. I would get to keep Sophie for eternity. Neither of us would die. Unless it was in an attack. Which was unlikely. Our families wouldn't attack each other. Purely based on the fact that Sharna was the one who taught our grandfathers how to fight the vampires. We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for her. 

My happiness got cut short when Sophie was shot. There was me, Carlisle and Esme left in the room. Sharna and Edward ran out just before Sharna passed out. 

"Carlisle, do it. You have to. I can't lose her." I said. Just then the pack burst through the door.

"Jake, you have to let them change her, I can't live without her, You know I won't be able to." I begged. Jake looked to Carlisle and Sharna. "Do it. She is family. We protect our family." He said.

Carlisle whisked her upstairs and Edward came running in with Sharna behind. Sharna stayed downstairs knowing that I wouldn't be able to be up there while they were biting her. I knew it would save her but the wolf instinct would take over. 

"What happened?" I asked.

"A friend of Caleb's swore revenge when we killed Caleb. We killed him before me and Edward came back. We set fire to the body so that no one can find it. The others are making sure that it doesn't spread. Edward is changing Sophie, I'm guessing." Sharna stated.

"Yes, I begged for Carlisle to do it. I can't live without her. She has become so important to me. I can't imagine life without her. It's difficult being down here, when I should be up there being by her side. But I doubt my wolf coming out while they're saving her will help anything." I said. 

Sharna smiled at me. It must be difficult for her. Sophie is 17 and she's losing her whole life because of an idiot who couldn't take no for an answer. 

The pack were staying with me to make sure I was OK. I wasn't OK but I couldn't break down in front of the pack.

The newest member of the pack came to sit next to me. 

"How you doing?" Seth asked.

"As good as I can, to be honest." I replied. There was no life in my voice.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. Edward was coming down. I could smell the human blood on him.

"Did it work? Is she changing?" I asked. I needed answers.

"Yes,in about three days she'll wake up. I am glad that son of a bitch is dead." Edward said. 

I sagged with relief into the sofa and Seth patted my back. He didn't say anything, he seemed to know that words wouldn't help anything. But the fact that he cared was enough for me. 

Sharna's P.O.V.

I couldn't believe that someone had shot my daughter. Sam was beside himself with worry and grief when we didn't know whether she would change or not. I could hear everything they were doing up there. 

I knew they wouldn't be able to get enough venom to her heart through biting. I thought up to Edward to get the syringe and plunge it straight into her heart. 

The change has started. In three days she would be a vampire.
