Chapter 16

Sharna's P.O.V.

Today was the day that the pack was going to meet Sophie. I already identified her as my daughter. I didn't want her to leave, I wanted her to stay here with us.

Sam called this morning asking if it was still OK that they could come over and meet the new addition. They don't know what is going on, they probably think there is a new vampire in the family. 

We were wondering whether she would want to be one of us when she grows up. I don't think I could lose her now. She already meant too much to all of us. Jasper, Edward and Emmett already viewed her as the little sister they needed. Elizabeth and Alie already had outfits that she would wear during the day and also what she would wear for bed tonight. It was 11am and we were just waiting for the pack to arrive. Esme was cooking food so they wouldn't need to leave for something to eat. I think they guys were bringing their imprints aswell, as they knew they could trust us.

There was a knock on the door and we could smell them. They didn't smell as bad as the first time I came across them when I met the Cullens but they still smelt. It wouldn't take long so that I could ignore the scent. 

Edward opened the door and let the wolves and the imprints in. Sam was at the front as acting Alpha. Apparently Jacob Black didn't want to step up to his birth right yet. I could see his point. The pressure of making the right choices. Much like what a head if a coven must go through. 

Sophie walked down the stairs and ran over to me. I picked her up in my arms.

"What's wrong baby girl?" I asked her, she didn't need to be scared.

"There are alot of people here, mommy." She said in a quiet voice. I would never get tired of hearing her call me mommy.

"They're not going to hurt you, Princess." I promised her. "They would have me to deal with if they did. They know I could kick their butts with my eyes closed." I said with a wink. She giggles at that. She had seen me play fighting with Emmett once and I had won. 

"Just like when you beat Emmett when you were play fighting?" She asked.

"Yes, just like that." I said. 

She started to wriggle, so I put her down. She walked over to Sam first and looked up at him. I was looking into his mind because he just seemed to be staring at her. 

He was imprinting. I knew the legends, I knew what a wolf would do for their imprint. He would be anything for her. The pack would protect her with their lives, the same with all the other imprints. I knew that my baby girl would be safe. I also knew that we would definately be adopting her. There was no way I was letting her go now.

Sam looked over to me and Carlisle, he seemed ashamed.

"Sam, there is nothing to be ashamed of. I know what a wolf would do for thier imprint. It's ok. She will be extremey protected. With a family of vampires and a pack of wolves watching over her. No one will hurt her." I said, with a smile. He seemed to feel better because a smile crossed his face as she lifted her arms for him to pick her up. 

"You're gonna be my bestest friend in the whole wide world!" She shouted. We all just laughed.

"Well, Sammy boy. Welcome to the family." Emmett said.

"Thanks, Emmy bear." Sam retorted. 

Everyone was laughing at Emmett's face when Sam called him Emmy bear. It was a new one. We would definately have to keep that one.

Sam's P.O.V.

The minute I imprinted I thought I was going to be murdered there and then. I could see in Sharna's eyes how protective she was of the little one. I thought she would skin me for sure. But she seemed to take it well. Emmett wasn't too happy about the nickname I gave him. But then, I wasn't happy with Sammy boy. The pack were going to have a field day with that one.

Little Sophie was so cute. I don't understand how anyone could hurt her. Carlisle explained how she came to be here. What her parents had been doing to her. How could they do that? I wanted to put them through the pain that they had put their daughter through. But Sharna and Edward had heard what I was thinking and were dead set against it. Since their family were the only people who knew about what had happened, they would be immediately made suspects if they mysteriously died. That would then bring them unwanted attention and then potentionally putting their secret at risk. Humans couldn't know that vampire's existed. They would be killed if they did, aswel as the vampires who exposed themselves.

The Cullens had told me about some coven named the Volturi. Apparently, no one bothered them unless they wanted to die. But, according to Sharna, they wouldn't willingly, cross paths with the Cullens because they were scared of her. I could understand why, to be honest. I had seen in the memories of out ancestors of how she taught Ephraim Black how to fight. She is unkillable. She taught our great-grandfathers many things.

Jacob, Quil, Embry, Paul and Jared had quickly assumed the brother role with Sophie. I knew that she would be protected. She wouldn't be anywhere without either one of the pack or one of the Cullens with her. I couldn't risk anything happening to her. It may not be romantic now, but I loved her. When she grows up, thoughh, she will have a choice. I don't want her to feel forced to love me. I won't tell her about me imprinting until she declared her feelings first. I would have to hide the pain it causes when she starts dating other guys. I can't stop her from doing something if it makes her happy.

"Thank you, Sam." Sharna said. Oh yeah, I forgot that she can read minds. 

"No problem. I don't really want her to grow up feeling confused." I replied. It was true. 

I then looked around at my pack and my imprint's family and realised that we really were one big family. We may not be a normal family. I mean, come on, we are five shapeshifters. five vampires, one immortal and four humans. But we are still a family. And I will do anything to protect my family.

This is definately one of the favourites of my fanfics :) 

I would love some feedback on this one :) do I skip time? I am thinking of them telling little Sophie about the whole mythical creatures thing soon. But I don't know when. Feedback would be much apreciated :)
