It had been about a week since the newborn armt and my family finding out about my dark past. I felt like a new person living a new life.
My thoughts were cut short when there was a knock on the door and an awful stench filled my nose aswell as the vampires'.
"What the hell is that stench? I have never smelt anything so revolting in my life." I exclaimed. The stench was a mixture of wet dog and month old garbage.
"Wolf. From the reservation. We have a treaty with them that says that we can't hunt on their land and that we will not feed from or bite a human." Carlisle explained.
"Apparently they have a question to ask us. It is more potent because there is more than one." Edward added.
Carlisle, being the head of the coven, went to open the door to allow the wolves into our home. When they entered, they all tensed up, evidently intimidated by the amount of vampires in the room. I remembered these wolves somewhat but they weren't directly familiar to me.
"The treaty you made with Ephraim Black has been violated." The boy said. I could hear the tenor of the Alpha wolf in his voice when he stated this. You could hear the authority ringing in his voice.
"How so?" Carlisle asked, shocked that they could accuse us with this.
"Think about it, baby. They haven't seen me before. I have joined this family. I look like a vampire just without the eyes and the blood lust. Of course they would jump to conclusions without asking questions first. I can assure you that no treaty has been violated. I am not a vampire. Just immortal. You could have a human standing next to me actively bleeding and I wouldn't be effected at all." I said, the truth in my voice unmistakable.
The wolves looked shocked. I saw in some of their minds thinking back to some of their tribe's legends. About an immortal eing helping the wolves fight against a vampire army. I recognised every detail they were remembering. They saw me staring intently at them.
"Why are you staring at us like that?" The boy who seemed to be the youngest asked, sounding uncomfortable.
"I have some abilities. I can read minds. I am seeing you remember the legends of an immortal woman helping the tribe fight a vampire army. I remember every detail of that legend. Purely because I am the very female that helped your tribe survive the vampire attack. I must admit I though that the wolf gene had died out when Ephraim Black stopped phasing. But evidently I was wrong." I explained.
My family and the wolves looked at me with a new kind of respect. They new I was dangerous, they just didn't realise how much until now.
"Well, it's the presense of vampires that has set the motions in place. Their presense activated the gene in all of us. We do not hold i against you. We have been observing you from a distance. Orders from the elders of the tribe. Seeing how you interact with humans and amongst yourselves. We do not see a coven here. We see a family. We know in the treaty you made with Ephraim Black that you do not feed on human blood. Given the circumstances that you are living with the very immortal who saved our tribe, we see fit that the treaty can be ammended. You may set foot on the reservation. However, you must stay in control of your bloodlust. If not, and you feed off or bite a human, then we will detroy you." The main man said.
My family we so happy. I could feel all their emotion and so could Jasper. We looked at each other and sensed that we were becoming overwhelmed by all the emotionn and decided to send some of the joy my family had to the wolves
I could see the happines form in their eyes.
"We are very thankful for this. With the other of our kind, we tend to ask them to hunt out of Forks. If they still remai in the area and feed off humans then we end up running them out of town. If they fight back, we destroy them. We would more than likely help you to keep your people and the town safe from the human drinkers. We could work togerther to keep Forks and the reservation safe." Carlisle offered.
"Well, we could use the help at times. It would be nuce to know how they think." the main man said, with a pointed glance at me.
"Hey, it's not just me, Edward can read minds aswell." I said. They all looked shocked, "Jasper can feel your emotions and minipulate them and Alice can see the future. And I can do all three." To say they were shocked would be the biggest understatement of the year, or maybe century.
"Well, that changes things a bit. With you guys helping, we can't lose." The main man said with a smile.
I smiled back. "Forgive me, but we don't know your names." I said in a polite tone.
"Oh yeah, sorry. I am Jacob Black the Alpha of the pack. This is Sam Uley my Beta. Then we have Pail, Jared, Quil and Embry. Some others are due to phase soon. We will let you know when they do and we can introduce when they know the rules." He said, pointing to each of the wolves respectively.
"Hi guys, I am Sharna and this is my mate Carlisle. My daughter Elizabeth and her mate Emmett. Esme and her mate Edward and Alice and her mate Jasper." I said, pointing respectively to each vampire as I introduced then. "Forgive Alice and Jasper for their eyes, they are new to our diet. They stay here out of the public until they are able to control themselves around humans." Carlisle explained when he saw the wolves tense up when they saw their eyes a bright crimson red.
"We chose this way of life because we didn't want to be monsters anymore. We wanted to live at peace with the humans."Jasper explained in his southern drawl.
We then realised that the wolves trusted us. I didn't realise then that we would become almost like a family. Serving together to protect each other and the good peopl of Forks and La Push.
