When Love and Eternity Collide (A Carlisle Cullen and Twilight Fan Fiction)

Chapter 9

Well we had no more training time.

Would we win? If we did, who would we lose? If Emmett was as protective as he sounds, he could get himself killed protecting Elizabeth. I had a feeling that Carlisle was in the same frame of mind as Emmett.

I had no idea what to do. If I used mt ability of controlling the elements, I culd hit a member of our own. I didn't want to do that. I had been here two days and I already considered them family. I couldn't lose any of them now. Not ever.

We all sped off to the clearing here we would intercept the arm before they got too close to the town. I saw Elizabeth tense when she saw the monster that caused this. I could hear and feel her hatred towards him. She was using words that could make a sailor blush.

As the army ran towards us, I felt the need to protect my family stronger than ever. I felt something leave my mind and just when the army was close enough to attack, they stopped. It was almost like a barrier was in the way. How was that possible?

Jasper and Edward went forward as did the rest of the family. I couldn't move. I didn't have the strength. They took care of the newborns while Elizabeth went straight for Royce. She seemed to enjoy herself. I could feel the pride running off her.

They all started to walk back towards me. They got as far as the newborn did and they couldn't get any further. I started to feel really weak. Then everything went black.

When I woke up, I was back in my bed. I was just hoping that everything was a dream. Then Carlisle walked into the room and saw me. I saw the relief flood his perfect face.

He started asking questions. 'Do you have any idea what happened?' he asked.

"Not exactly. I remember watching Elizabeth kill Royce and you all turning and walking back to me. Then you got as far as the newborns before you stopped. Then everything went black.' I replied. He seemed really interested in this. It could have been just the stress of the situation that caused me to black out. But what about the fact that they couldn't get anywhere near me?

Just then Edward entered the room.

'She has a physical shield. She can prevent anyone from getting close to her should they want to attack. She is extremely powerful. What were you feeling before they attacked?' He asked,

;I was just feeling the need to protect the ones I love stronger than ever. It was like something left my mind and then the newborns attacked and couldn't get any closer. When you guys stopped when you were walking back to me I could feel something trying to get through something within me. Then I got really weak and blacked out.' I explained as best I could.

'It makes sense now. Your protective nature is what triggers the shield. We could help you learn to control it. If you would like?' Carlisle offered.

'I am pleased to know that you would help me, but remember, I learned to control all my other abilities alone. I am pretty sure that I can learn this one alone as well.' I said, trying not to offend them. They were trying to help me, after all.

'But you have us now, We aren't lettin you go anywhere, Sharna.' Carlisle said.

'Fine, I could use the help.' I said in defeat.

Just then the doorbell rang. Edward tensed in front of us. I could hear unfamiliar thoughts.

'The Volturi guard ar here. Jane, Alec, Felix and Demitri.' Edward said.

Hey guys! Sorry for the late update. I am only going to be able to upload like every other day due to my studies. I hope you guys understand.

Please if you guys have any ideas as to what else could happen then I will be willing to hear them and I will either pick the best one or adapt it within another chapter :)
