Nick was silent for so long, I couldn't even look at him, after a certain point. I looked at the floor, closing my eyes for a moment, praying Nick believed me. I was preparing myself for our marriage to be over. If he thought something happened with Zac, our marriage was going to crumble, completely & I wasn't sure there was any way to rebuild it. If he didn't trust me, there was no way we'd make it. It broke my heart that our marriage could be over, depending on Nick's response, but that was the reality.
I heard Nick clear his throat, but I was afraid to look in his direction. I kept my head down, wiping all the tears away. I couldn't keep crying. I had to be strong, so I could face whatever fate was in store, for our marriage. If he believed me, I would have to remember to continue fighting for our marriage, something that I didn't ever want to see end. If he didn't believe me, I'd have to face the fact, that divorce could be in our future & then I'd have to be strong for Evan.
"I believe you." I heard Nick say & I lifted my head to look at him.
I wasn't sure I heard him correctly, at first, but the way he was looking at me, made me realize I had heard him, right. "You do?" I asked, my voice soft, almost afraid to ask that question. I was afraid he'd change his mind or that he misspoke.
"You're right. You've never given me any reason to think that you'd be lying or that you'd cheat on me. I calmed down & started really thinking & I was listening to you & I was watching you, as you explained. I know you lied to me because I told you not to talk to him anymore & you didn't want to upset me. It was wrong of me to ask that of you, anyway & I really am sorry." Nick walked toward me, his expression intense. "I know you're telling the truth. How can I not know? I've known you almost my entire life, so I know when you're lying & when you're not. I'm so sorry that I even thought for a second, that you would cheat on me." Nick reached his hand out for me to take & I did, then I smiled, when he reached up, with the other hand to caress my cheek. "Can we just forget about everything that's happened, since I got back & start fresh, right here, right now?"
I nodded my head, smiling up at him, as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. "A fresh start. Yes. That's what we need. Let's not worry about the time you were gone, because we can't change it. Let's just concentrate on our future." I puckered my lips & Nick kissed me, softly, as he nodded.
"I love you, so much." He murmured, as he smirked up at me, his hands resting on my hips. "Now... I was supposed to remember where we had left off downstairs...." He put his hands on my ass, then slid them up my shirt before he pulled me down to straddle his lap. Nick moved one of his hands up to my neck, as his lips left soft kisses along my collarbone, forcing my head to fall back. My body got warm as Nick tenderly left a trail of kisses, up my neck. I felt his hand grabbing my ass as he moved me against his c.ock, that was growing hard beneath me. I closed my eyes & let my other senses take over, feeling Nick's touch along my skin, hearing his breathing get heavier, smelling his delicious scent.
