Dedicated to telltaleheart because of that amazing story she wrote, 'Talk about the direct approach'. If you haven't read it yet, go read it!!

Brooke's POV:

"Brooke, tie that frickin hair of yours up!" My brother Branton grumbled, "I can't see the screen."

Yeah, cue laughter. My brother's named after fire and I'm named after water, and we're twins.

My, isn't that special.

I pushed my hair to my other side and went back to looking out of the window.

"Who're you texting anyway?" I asked my brother.

He looked up at me and slipped his phone into his jeans pocket. "Just Mel." he replied casually.

I grabbed his hand, "She's your girlfriend dude! I'm guessing that you just told her we're leaving."

"Nope," My brother said, popping the 'p'. "I just broke up with her so she doesn't really need to know whether I'm leaving or not, right?"

"Wrong, you moron!" I glared at my brother and then took out my phone to apologise to Mel because my brother was being a total douchebag, again.

My mom decided it was time to give us yet another of her famous speeches. My brother and I exchanged a glance which said, 'oh boy, here we go again.'

"So," She started, "I have good news," she smiled and squealed, "We got our old house back,"

I almost fell out of my seat, "You can't be serious,"

My old house. That meant only three houses away was...

"How could you do this to me?" I groaned.

My mom looked surprised, "But honey, aren't you excited? You're only three houses away from-"

"Don't say his name!" I hissed, honestly, was my mother clueless?

'His' refered to Damian Ethan Ryder, my best friend who I sort of left behind when my family moved to LA.

You don't know what I'm talking about? Well, my apprentices, my parents dragged me out of Angel Falls, a small town in the middle of nowhere when my dad got a job in LA.

So you must be wondering what I was doing not soaking up some goddamn sun right now.

Oh right, you don't know.

My dad got transferred back to Angel Falls.

Stupid job, I tell you.

So here I was, sitting on the stupid backseat of the stupid car, going back to my stupid old home and well, my not so stupid friends, if I had any left. They'd probably forgotten me.

My dad cleared his throat, probably to ease the tension.

"How bout I turn on the radio?" He asked.

"Geez, what took you so long old man." I grumbled, making my brother burst out laughing and my mother to give me the evil eye.

A very well known song was playing and my head perked up suddenly, and new evil idea forming inside my head.

I cleared my throat.

My brother looked at me, probably sensing what I was about to do. "What, no Brooke-"

Too late brother.

"WE," I yelled, at the top of my voice, "ARE NEVER EVER EVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER."

"Brooke!" All three of my family members complained at the same time.

I ignored them.

"YOU GO TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS, TALK TO MY FRIENDS, TALK TO ME BUT- mmph!"

That was my brother covering my mouth with his oh-so-big hand.

I promptly licked his hand.

"Eww, gross Brooke." My brother grumbled, wiping his hand on this T-Shirt.

What a girl.

Anyways,

"WE, ARE NEVER EVER hey!" And that was my dad turning off the radio.

"Uh, my head." my mom groaned, rubbing her temples.

"That's enough Taylor Swift to last me a lifetime." My brother groaned.

My dad kept driving.

"I can sing without music, you know." I pointed out.

"NO!" My whole family shouted and I grinned.

Well, at least some things always remain the same.

Well, that was chapter 1 guys! I really enjoyed writing this chapter and I really really really hope you liked reading it!

Next chapter coming out soon!

May the odds be ever in your favour,

Rue.
