Humor #624?? OPEN MY EYES, YEAH, IT WAS ONLY JUST A DREEEAAAAAAM!
Sorry, I get a little carried away sometimes..
Chapter 12:
Damian's POV:
I can't believe I was letting Brooke do this. And she seemed so...alright with flirting with some unknown guy.
I closed my eyes and I could still hear her shout And who are you to decide that? My mother? My boyfriend?
I had ruined everything. Every single shitty thing.
And then when she cut herself, I swear it cost me every ounce of my self control not to pull her to me and kiss her hard, right there, right then. But I didn't. Because I couldn't. She wasn't mine.
Yet.
I saw her bounce away to that lucky guy and I clenched my fingers into a fist. I swear, I was going to kill that guy. But first things first, I had to talk to my mother.
I saw them flutter their eyelashes at eachother for a few seconds, and I swear, I was going to puke into the dustbin.
Finally, thank godness for it, they decided to go flirt somewhere beyond my immediate vision.
I slowly made my way to my mother's room, no, let me rephrase, the room in which my mother was temporarily being kept and slowly opened the door.
When I saw my mother, I was pleasently surprised. I don't know what I was expecting, but my mom looked fine, almost as if she was sleeping. But as I got closer, I could see small cuts and bruises all over her face.
She looked so peaceful, sleeping, so I just grabbed her hand and sat down next to her. And to my surpirse, the hand moved. Then one eye blinked.
"Sorry," My mom grunted, blinking, "I just needed to make sure you weren't one of those idiot doctors."
I cracked a little smile, typical.
My mother frowned, "What's with the miserly smile? What's wrong?"
"Nothing." I said a little to quickly.
My mother's lips quirked, "It's Brooke, isn't it?"
Darn, my mom knew me too well. There was no point lying to her so I fessed up, "Yeah." I muttered.
She grinned, she looked a little too happy, given her condition. I sighed, and started telling her everything, from starbucks, to the first day of school, to that wretched party, tothe morning assembly, and finally my discovery in the car.
When I looked up from where I was fidling with my hands, my mother seemed to be in deep thought. Then she looked at me and said, "First of all, I don't know whether to soothe you or to clock you on the face. Second, you really are whipped, my boy." She grinned.
"You know, there's this saying." She continued, "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it's yours. If it doesn't. it never was."
I blinked up at her and then got up, "I think you need rest mom. Your injuries are causing you to say the weirdest things."
She rolled her eyes, "Getting cocky with our poor old mother, are we?"
"But I'm serious," She continued, "Think of it this way, you faught with Brooke right?" I started to argue but she frowned, "Don't argue young man! I saw your face when you came home after that party last night." I sighed and nodded and she continued,
"I bet you completely screwed her over, knowing that you're sort of clueless." She said, giving me the 'I feel sorry for you' look.
I frowned, "What's that supposed to mean?" I argued, maybe my mother really needed another dose of medicine. But what she said next totally took me by surprise.
