Two weeks.

It had been two weeks since Damian had spoken to me. Scratch that, it had been two weeks since Damian had looked at me. I'm not going to lie, it really hurt. Had I done something wrong?

I've started to think that that kiss was just a figment of my imagination. Maybe it didn't happen at all. Maybe he regretted kissing me. Maybe he didn't love me the way I loved him.

I love him.

I've loved him forever, and it's still going strong. I wish you could pick who you wanted to fall in love with, but destiny is cruel.

I closed my eyes to stop the tears. Why was he doing this to me? Couldn't he tell he was hurting me?

On my thirteenth bithday he said he wouldn't let anybody hurt me. He promised. He never broke his promises.

I've tried so hard to talk to him, but he just turned away.

I don't solely blame him, he's got a lot on his mind, with finals coming up, and regionals, and him Mom in the hospital.

I just wished he'd let me in, instead of pushing me away.

My phone rang, "Where are you?" Branton asked me.

I cleared my head before replying, "I'm out on a run, why?"

"Bree came over."

"Right, I'll be over in five." I pocketed my phone and started jogging back to my house. I was almost there when I saw Damian coming out of his house, holding Jamie's hand.

"Brooke!" Jamie called out when he saw me.

Please don't come here, please don't come here, please don't come here.

He ran towards me, "Hi Brooke." He said, hugging me.

"Hi Stumps." I sighed and ruffled his hair.

He looked up at me with his doe eyes, "Are you sad?"

I gave him a small smile, "Of course not Jamie."

"You look sad." He pointed out.

"I'm not," I lie, "Just...tired." I hated lying to Jamie.

"You bit your lip, you're lying." Jamie frowned at me.

Damian cleared his throat and said, "Jamie, can you go check if all the lights are off inside?"

Jamie raised his eyebrows, "But you checked-"

"Please." Damian ground out and Jamie nodded.

"Yeah, I'll just go." I said, trying to avoid the awkwardness.

"I want to talk to you."

"You do, do you?" I said, "Well, that sucks then." And I started walking towards my house.

"Brooke, just let me-"

"No, Damian. No." I was tired, crushed and heartbroken, "I don't really care anymore." I turned around to face him, his chest touching mine, "You promised." I whispered, my voice broken, "You promised that you won't let anyone hurt me. You're a liar. All you do is hurt me. I didn't even do anything wrong! If you think you can keep pushing me away and ignoring me and when you feel like, you'll grace me with your presence you're delusional you pompous prick!" I screamed, shoving him at the end.
