Brooke's POV
"Excuse me?" Came a polite, chirpy voice from behind me. I turned around and saw two girls in cheerleading outfits, beaming at me.
The one who had spoken was short and had long glossy blackish-brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. The girl behind her was as tall as me, and she had straight blonde hair and gray eyes.
"Yeah?" I asked, trying to be more confident than I felt.
"I'm Madison." The short girl introduced herself, "But you can call me Maddie, everybody does." She was practically bouncing up and down as she said this.
Typical cheerleader, I thought, as I smiled.
"And I'm Riley." The blonde girl said, giving me a nod. She seemed more formal.
"I'm Brooke, it's nice to meet you." I said, grinning.
Maddy grinned at Riley, "She really does have the charm, doesn't she?"
Riley just nodded. I looked at them, a confused look on my face, "Umm?"
"Look," Maddy said, suddenly all business, honestly this girl was bipolar, "We're one cheerleader down and you look like a perfect cheerleader, you know you have the body and stuff, would you be interested?"
I hate stereotypes. Once when someone in LA told my French (very much straight) friend Antonio that only gay guys wear scarves I made the whole football team wear scarves for a whole week. That, my friends, is the power of smiling and using Bambi eyes.
But I wanted to get into cheerleading and this was two good to be true, so I nodded, and said, "I'd love that."
"Yes!" Maddy yelled, and started doing a little cheer right in the cafeteria.
"I'm guessing she said yes." Came a silky voice from behind us. My blood turned cold, No.
I turned around to face the one and only Savannah Silver, captain of the cheerleading squad, senior, and the girl who shattered my dreams two years ago by kissing Damian in front of me.
"I-Uh," I cursed myself for stuttering, I couldn't let her get the better of me again, "I'd love to." I finally choked out. Yes! Thank you, speech!
"Awesome," She said, her green cat like eyes twinkling. She looked like an evil cat goddess.
That's the best you can come up with, I argued with myself, pathetic.
"So," Savannah (a.k.a evil cat goddess) said, "Have you ever done cheerleading before?"
I nodded, "For the West LA Eagles." I managed. All three of them looked impressed.
"You're in." Savannah said finally, and I beamed, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I squealed, quite uncharacteristically.
Riley chucked, "Now that's real cheerleader behavior." She gave me a smile, visibly warmer towards me, "Welcome to the family."
"Brooke?" Came a voice from behind me. I turned to smile at Damian, "I got in!"
He chuckled, and walked up to me, "Told you you would. Now you're coming to eat, or what?"
"I-" I started to say but Maddy cut me off.
"Oh no you don't, Ryder!" She said, "Go back to your boys." She made a shooing motion with her perfectly manicured hand.
