FireClan was mourning for several days. No cat could get over the death of Featherpelt. But eventually they began to do normal things again.
Shadepaw had been given a new mentor: Dappleflower. Now, Goldenlight and Dappleflower took their two apprentices out into the woods for an apprentice test. They reached the training area, and Goldenlight turned to them.
"You have both trained very hard. It is now time for your final apprentice test. You must go and hunt and try to bring back as much prey as you can. This will also help feed the Clan concidering it's leaf-bare. Silverpaw, you will hunt down by High Rocks and make your way back to the Life Cave from there. Shadepaw, you will hunt along the EarthClan border, but be careful. Goodluck." Goldenlight said.
The two apprentices nodded and darted off into the forest.
Goldenlight turned to Dappleflower.
"Are you ok?" She asked her friend, who was staring off into the distance.
"Huh? Oh! Y-yes. I'm fine." Dappleflower stammered.
"Dappleflower. What's going on?" Goldenlight asked, concerned.
"Well, the truth is, I think I'm expecting kits!" She blurted.
Goldenlight's eyes widened. She was so excited for her friend.
"Who's kits?" She purred.
"Islandfur." She purred, swishing her tail proudly.
Goldenlight touched her tail to her shoulder in silent congratulations, then padded off after the apprentices.

Nightstar sat on High Ledge with the clan gathered underneath him. Silverpaw and Shadepaw sat next to their mentors in the front of the group. Their piles of fresh-kill sat at the back of the cave, letting of an inviting aroma that made Goldenlight's stomach growl.
"Cats of FireClan. We gather here under High Ledge for my favorite duty. Two of our apprentices are ready to become warriors. Shadepaw!" Nightstar began.
Shadepaw stepped forward, his tail swishing.
"You have been brave and strong in a time of great grief. I call upon StarClan to look upon this noble apprentice. He has learned the ways of your code, and I know he will follow them well. Shadepaw, from this day forward you will be known as Shadepelt, in honor of your mentor." Nightstar said.
The clan began to chant.
"Shadepelt! Shadepelt!"
NIghtstar continued with the ceremony.
"Silverpaw! You are a perky and happy young apprentice, and have shown that you are loyal to the clan without a doubt. StarClan, I call upon you to accept this apprentice into your warrior ranks. Silverpaw, from this day forward you will be known as Silverfrost. May StarClan guide you path." Nightstar finished as the clan chants, "Silverfrost! Silverfrost!"
The white she-cat turned to Goldenlight first and touched noses with her former mentor.
"I'm so proud of you! You've become a great warrior." Goldenlight whispered to Silverfrost.
"Thank you. You've done so much for me. I would do anything for you." She said back, then padded off to the middle of the clearing to sit vigil.
Goldenlight torned to Shadepelt, said her congratulations, then looked for Dappleflower. She spotted her over by the medicine cat's den with Islandfur. A happy look filled their eyes as they spoke to Herbfur. Goldenlight purred, then settled into the warriors den for a long night's rest as the sun dipped behind the trees.
But all the rest in the forest wouldn't prepare her for what was to come.
