Goldenstar squirmed under the weight of the cats. She knew the whole clan was struggling, and there wasn't anything she could do to stop it. She couldn't even save herself!

Shadepelt laughed wickedly.

"See, Goldenstar. Every light must fade to darkness." He hissed at her.

Shadepelt pressed his paw to Goldenstar's throat. Her breaths came in short gasps. He was choking her.

Suddenly, the pain stopped and everything faded to black.

~~~~~~~~~~~
Goldenstar wandered through the tunnel she was in. She soon came upon the Moon Cave.
StarClan cats began to appear around her. It seemed as if all of StarClan had gathered there!
Bluestar sat at the front of the group, smiling softly at Goldenstar.
"Goldenstar. You are fighting hard in the war of your clan. We are very proud." She said.
Nightstar stepped forward then.
"Daughter, you've lost your first life. The battle you fight is a lost cause. FireClan is gravely out numbered." He meowed.
Next was Spottedleaf.
"But there is hope still. We can help you, little one." She smiled.
"We will fight with you." Yellowfang said.
Goldenstar was amazed. StarClan would fight with her!
"T-thank you. We would be honored." She said.
Then, one by one, each StarClan cat stepped into the Moon Pond. The last cat to step through was Nightstar. He paused before stepping into the pond.
"Come Goldenstar. Your clan awaits." He meowed.
Goldenstar stood and followed her father into the Moon Pond.
And back to the blood war.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Shadepelt stood over Goldenstar, still grinning evilly. He had neglected to remember that leaders had nine lives, not just one.

Goldenstar's motionless body lay under his paws. He laughed again.

Suddenly, Goldenstar's eyes shot open. They were glowing and had turned completely silver. She easily pushed him and the other leaders off and stood. And when she spoke, she spoke with the voices of all of StarClan.

"Shadepelt! You have dis-honored us. Now, you face the wrath of all of StarClan!" She cried.

Then, StarClan warriors appeared behind Goldenstar, who's eyes still glowed the the stars' power.

DarkClan gasped. They had never seen so many warriors. Goldenstar stood proudly before DarkClan, and at the head of StarClan. She flicked her tail, and the battle began again.

Goldenstar jumped at Shadepelt, her claws unsheathed. She landed on top of him, knocking him off balance and then pinning him to the ground. DarkClan cats began to run from the cave, fleeing for their lives. Goldenstar looked Shadepelt in the eyes.

"Give up, Shadepelt. You can't win!" She hissed.

But as DarkClan left, Goldenstar saw that every cat in FireClan had fallen. Shadepelt laughed.

"On the contrary, dear leader. We have already won." He hissed, and raked his claws over Goldenstar's eye.

She was knocked backwards, hissing in pain. But when she turned to strike him, he was gone.

Goldenstar turned to her clan. Not a single cat still stood. The cave was covered in blood, and tufts of fur lay everywhere. Goldenstar yowled in grief.

FireClan had been destroyed.

Bluestar stood next to Goldenstar. She touched her tail to the FireClan leader's shoulder.

"Goldenstar. You did everything in your power to stop this. But it had to happen." Spottedleaf said, pressing her nose to Goldenstar's shoulder.

"But what will I do now?" Goldenstar cried.

Yellowfang, Spottedleaf, and Bluestar exchanged a glance.

"You can come with us." Yellowfang said.

"What? But how? I'm not dead!" Goldenstar asked.

"You can stay with us for a little while. But since you do still have eight lives left, you can be reborn into another clan." Spottedleaf meowed.

"It's a hard decision, but it's open to you if you wish to take it." Bluestar said.

Goldenstar thought for a moment. There was nowhere else she could go! She sighed.

"Alright. I'll go with you. Thank you." Goldenstar said.

Bluestar nodded. One by one the StarClan cats disappeared into the sky. Spottedleaf and Nightstar stood on each side of Goldenstar. When the time came for them to fly back, they helped Goldenstar start. It didn't take her long to get the hang of flying. She was soon looping through the air, as she flew up to StarClan with her father.

And she was happy.
