"Hey Switch! go get table seven's request."
"Yes Linda." Switch replied and moved to the counter, with Bree standing, so as to pick up his notepad.
"I just hate it when she does that." he said to Bree and she laughed a little. Picking up his note pad, he left to attend to the occupants of table seven.
Switch was a well built black haired guy who worked in the same restaurant as Bree as a bartender who was also an open admirer of Bree. He was also a friendly and funny. Linda was the manager of the restaurant who was at times annoying but very friendly and fun too. She liked Bree a lot and spent most of her time with her.
Bree quickly handed a young man his tray of chips, hot dog and a plastic bottle of coke. Taking a sip of her ice cube filled glass of lemonade, Axel, her one and only male best friend walked into the restaurant and headed straight to the counter and sat on the stool.
"Hey Bree." he said smiling at her and she smiled back.
"Hello Axel." she replied and he picked up her glass of lemonade drink.
Bree and Axel have been friends for five years. They had met back at college in the cafeteria where Bree almost punched the nose of one of the most notorious guys in school but Axel had stopped her quickly and drew her away from the scene. They knew literally everything about each other and shared each others happiness or sorrow. Although Bree liked Axel so much as a best friend that she could endorse her life to him, Axel's feelings for her was the other way round. For the five years he had spent with Bree, he never really took her as a friend for his feelings were much more deeper than that. He was in love with her and could do anything for her and also protect her. Bree never knew about these feelings for he never told her and has kept it a secret to himself. He wasn't ready to reveal it. Not now, not yet.
"You look really happy today." he said, trying to make out a conversation.
"Oh yes, I am. My dad told me that he feels so strong and healthy. Am glad he's recovering." Bree said and he smiled widely.
"So tell me... " Bree started using a rag to clean the counter. "...how's basket ball going and what's with you and your coach?" She asked.
"Basket is going really smoothly but with my coach Franklin, it's unbearable. Can you believe he's dating my mum?" he asked and Bree busted into laughter.
"Hmm, what joke am I missing out in?" Switch asked, walking up and leaning on the counter beside Axel, having delivered table seven's order.
"It's nothing Switch. It's just a funny happening in my life. My mum is dating my coach." Axel said and his eyes widened.
"Gracious, that's daring." he said and Bree chuckled. "But wait a minute..." he immediately said. "If your coach is daring enough to date your mother, then it's not so impossible to date Bree."
'Not again.' Bree murmured to herself.
Axel managed a laugh although it hurt him to hear that someone else liked Bree.
"Am serious. I guess I have one more chance."
"But Switch, don't you think you're pushing it too hard?" Axel asked noticing Bree changed countenance. Her hands were folded underneath her chest.
"Pushing too hard? I haven't even started yet." Switch answered and looked at Bree's slightly frowned face.
"So Bree, what do you say? you and I, on a real date, get to know each other better and maybe get intimate along the way." Switch said and Bree just stared at him, speechless. It wasn't possible for her to date anyone.
"Bree!" Linda sang
'Thank Jehovah, someone to get me out of this mess and away from Switch's dream.
"Yes Linda!" she answered. "Am coming."
"You haven't answered me yet." Switch said
"Sorry Switch, no can do. I don't date." she said and quickly dashed away from behind the counter and into Linda's office.
"Damn it!" Switch said, hitting the counter.
"Told you Switch." Axel said and shaking his head, he picked up Bree's lemonade and drank from it.

Cameron walked cheerfully down the hallway and Tori, his secretary quickly walked up to him.
"Good morning, Mr Cameron." she said to him.
"Oh there you're Tori, how are you?" he asked smiling at her.
"Am fine Mr Cameron, thank you."
"Hmm, you look beautiful this morning." he complimented and she began to blush.
"Oh...th - thank you." she answered.
"You're welcome." he said as they reached the reception counter. They stopped walking.
"Well sir, I've gotten everything ready for the meeting by two."
"That's good." he said.
"And I got a call from one of the foreign investor's secretary, Mr Manfred Olivet, saying he will be thirty minutes late as he has a meeting elsewhere to attend." she said and he nodded.
"No problem. You're doing a good job Tori."
"Thank you sir." she said smiling. Watching him walk away to the other part of the company, she did a little victory dance and turning away, she walked down the other way.
