Nico: Chapter 7

Nico

Annabeth doubled over and disconnected the Iris Message. Nico instantly searched his pockets for a drachma but to his frustration he didn't have any. He leaned against the athena parthenos for support, he was exhausted. His legs kept on shaking and finally he gave up and sat down.

Reyna glanced at him then turned away. Nico slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep for the first time in days.

A man in a black coat was pacing. He was in a huge creepy room with broken chandeliers, broken windows and dead flowers in glass vases. On one wall there were pictures of Titans and Giants. There were two thrones next to the wall, which were made out of black fog. Or at least that was what it looked like.

Sitting in the throne on the right was Gaea, or at least that's who Nico assumed she was.

The man who was pacing stopped and sat in the throne on the left, "it's not going as planned."

"Everything will work out." Gaea hissed. "Just wait and see."

"It better work out." The man growled. "I have waited millennia for this moment."

"We both have." She said.

Then the dream changed.

Thalia and her hunters were running in a forest.

"We're almost there!" Phoebe yelled. "Just a bit farther!"

"I can't make it." A younger huntress moaned. She was limping and she had bruises everywhere.

Something roared in the distance.

Thalia turned around, "go on, I'll handle them."

Phoebe's eyes widened, "but-"

"You heard my orders. Not even you are stupid enough to ignore my orders." Thalia said.

"As you wish." Phoebe said quietly, and she and the other huntress supported the inquired one and ran off.

Thalia faced a huge shadow, "let's get this over with." She muttered and then she charged.

Nico woke up sweating, the dream about Thalia had reminded him about a story Percy had told him a long time ago. He couldn't remember what story it was though.

He stood up and walked over to Coach Hedge who was on guard duty.

"Hi." Nico muttered.

Coach Hedge jumped, "oh. Hi kid. Here's your food."

Nico took the food gratefully and sat next to the athena parthenos. He slowly ate the apple and sandwich Coach Hedge had gotten him. The sandwich was okay, except for the fact that it didn't have meat because Coach Hedge was friends with a turkey named Sheldon and didn't want to offend him.

Nico rubbed the crumbs off of his hands and took a little cat nap. Only to lead to the same dreams again.

Nico woke up to the sounds of battle. Reyna and Coach Hedge were battling what looked like a mix between a satyr and a centaur. It had horse ears, horse legs and a tail. But other than that it looked human.

He unsheathed his sword forged from Stygian iron and jumped into the battle. The satyr centaur thing was pretty good but they soon had him defenseless.

"Who are you?" Reyna asked, her sword at the thing's throat.

"I am Yuri." He replied.

"What are you?" Nico asked.

"I am an Ipotane." Yuri said.

"Let's kill him!" Coach Hedge said.

"Not just yet," Reyna said, then she addressed Yuri, "what's an Ipotane?"

"We are the earlier race of the centaurs." Yuri answered. "Except hotter."

"Do you work for Gaea?" Reyna asked.

"Of course I do, what do you think I am? An idiot?"

"Now we think you are." Nico muttered and Reyna shot him a death glare.

"Kill him!" Coach Hedge yelled.

"I suppose we should." Reyna sighed. She stabbed the Ipotane and it turned into dust. Nico hoped it took a long time for Yuri to reform.

Reyna scowled and kicked the dust, "he died too easily."

Nico nodded in agreement.

Reyna hesitated then said, "we should get going."

Nico stared blankly at her for a moment considering if he should listen to her or not. He figured it was safest to do what she said. He grabbed onto the athena parthenos and the others grabbed onto his free arm.

Nico sighed then shadow traveled.

This is my shortest chapter yet! I'm super sorry! I just can't think of anything to write about. Please give me some ideas! I cannot believe I have five hundred reads on my first fan fiction! Vote, comment, follow.
