Hazel: Chapter 5

Hazel

Hazel spun around to see Khione. Khione stood there glaring at them until, suddenly, she grabbed at Frank. To Hazel everything happened in slow motion. Hazel lunged at Khione and everyone else just stared- except for Shaley, who was playing on her iPod touch.

Hazel grabbed Khione's neck and started choking her. Khione's hand shot up and Hazel felt herself frozen.

Leo caught on fire and melted her while attempting to touch Khione with his flaming hands. Khione snarled and froze Percy.

"Percy!" Annabeth wailed. Leo made a move toward Percy but Khione hit him away. When Leo hit the ground he stayed there.

Slowly, all of Hazel's friends went down or froze. Hazel unsheathed her spatha and charged. Shaley muttered something and sat up rubbing her head. Shaley jumped up and also charged. Khione blocked both of them and hissed "Gaea will defeat you." Then she disappeared.

"Why do they keep on doing that?!" Shaley groaned. "We would've cut her head off!"

Hazel gave Shaley a strange look and Shaley shrugged.

Leo groaned and sat up, "Festus?" He muttered. "Where's Festus?"

"We don't know where the ship is." Hazel said gently, although in her mind she was rolling her eyes.

"My baby!" Leo wailed.

"Leo," Hazel said gently, "can you unfreeze the others?"

Leo stared at her then nodded dully. His palms caught on fire and slowly the others melted.

"Ugh!" Piper said, glaring at her wet shirt. "I'm soaked!"

Percy was the only one who wasn't wet, other than Shaley, Leo and herself.

"Percy, I better not be wet in ten seconds!" Annabeth said angrily.

Percy gulped and raised his arm, Annabeth instantly dried.

"Much better." Annabeth said.

"Dude, are you scared of your girlfriend?" Jason said.

"We all are." Percy said.

"I'm not." Shaley said.

"We can have a competition later." Frank said.

"I bet you ten drachmas Shaley's gonna win." Hazel said to Leo.

"Deal." He said grinning. "Annabeth is going to squash Shaley like a bug!"

"Come on guys," Percy said, "we're in the middle of nowhere and we don't know where the Argo II is.

Leo covered his face with his hands and groaned "my baby" over and over again.

"Here's an idea." Shaley said. "how about we actually look for your baby, or whatever you call it, before we assume the worse."

Jason laughed then shut his eyes and concentrated. Hazel immediately knew what he was doing. A few seconds late Tempest appeared.

Percy smiled and also shut his eyes and concentrated. Hazel knew that he was calling Blackjack.

Hazel closed her eyes and started silently calling for Arion. Before she knew it, Arion was next to her whinnying.

Percy, who was on Blackjack, flinched "Hazel your horse keeps on cursing!"

Hazel smiled then whispered "Arion, can you take us to the Argo II?" Arion whinnied again and

Hazel took that as a yes. She got on Arion's back, "come on Leo." She said. Leo nervously got on Arion's back. Arion shot off like a comet.
